Rather than using the backslash key, I use the MIC key of whichever radio is tuned:

Mic_Button_ICS = RSHF \

Mic_Button_UHF1_ARC-159 = RALT \

Mic_Button_UHF2_ARC-182 = RCTL \

Why are the options for communicating with my wingman greyed out? I have set radio usage to on in the mission editor, but my wingman is totally useless during combat even when I tell him to engage bandits. The AI is so frustrating in the F14.

Edit: I am using easy communication and I am able to speak to the AWACS, but I get no wingman response.

Sorry man, I've never used the easy comms ... what I did was map a throttle Hat as Comm Hat, with three positions:

Down = Mic UHF 2

Left = MiC UHF 1

Right = Mic ICS (to communicate with the RIO and with Ground Crew when the Canopy is closed (requires electric power, so that means you cant request electric ground poower if the canopy is closed)

this mimics the real Throttle:

The Sim doesnt have a key for the "Both" position.

If you do own a Hotas, then I suggest to abandon easy comm ... normal comms is much better, specially on Multiplayer when combined with SRS (the Simple Radio script created by Ciribob)

Best regards

So how do you communicate with your wingman? Option always greyed out and I did a HB mission and it had no frequency for the wingman - so beats me what to tune to talk to him lol.
