Pinello Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I have a corrupt installation (file system), and will do do a fresh install of Windows and DCS (current same SSD-disk). I'm able to start DCS, but everything crash from there, also DCS_updater. Install will be on the same machine, possibly different IP-adress. Is there anything I should/can do to release the licences before I do this? I will probably not be able to anything with tools present installed in current DCS folder (will crash).
Rudel_chw Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Hi, See if you can still Run the <aircraft name>_protect.exe file, which is located in associated aircraft folder into DCS World\Mods\aircraft folder. For example, the P-51D Mustang: DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\P-51D\bin\x86_6\p51_protect.exe Select the Activate or deactivate application command as displayed in the window, then press the Next button. This way you may be able to recover an activation, at least for some of your aircrafts. Maps and Campaigns use the newer keyless protection, so no need to do this with them. Rudel_chw Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 DONT DELETE! RUN REPAIR! No point on doing a repair if the underlying file system is corrupt.
