Ramsay Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 (edited) TL;DR: While acting as a RIO, I found I wanted to help my pilot during the landing phase but didn't have the info in the RIO pit I needed. Reading up on the F-14A, I found the TID could display AOA, VV, ILS, and ACLS (AVIA) in real life. Testing in DCS Open Beta, setting CAP Mode to "D/L" and pressing button 4 (AVIA), had no effect. • Is the TID Data Link AVIA page planned ? Detail: F-14A, Change 1, 2005, NAVAIR 01−F14AAA−1, 17-7 (page 587) 17.2.8 TID AOA, VV, ILS, and ACLS (AVIA) Displays. Angle−of−attack, vertical velocity, instrument landing system, and automatic carrier landing system are displayed on the TID when the data−link function pushbutton No. 4 on the computer address panel is selected. Note Having any of the following modes active or the associated display posted on the TID at the time of AVIA display selection inhibits posting the AVIA display: 1. Nav grid 2. IFT menu 3. IFT 4. IFT D/L 5. A/G 6. TARPS. When AVIA displays are selected, an M appears on the TID momentarily indicating tape read. Both landing and non-landing modes are available for display. The pilot determines the mode by selecting on the pilot’s display panel either LDG for landing mode or any other mode selection for non-landing mode. In either mode, AOA and VV are indicated by a moving caret and a fixed scale. The manual includes pictures of the TID display (rule 1.16) and describes how the RIO uses the HCU TID cursor to 'hook' either "ILS" or "ACL" text, at the bottom of the TID, to display ICLS or ACLS guidance bars (along with the default AOA and VV scales) on the TID. viper2097 Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Wow, that would be an awesome feature... Steam user - Youtube I am for quality over quantity in DCS modules
AvroLanc Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 It’s been suggested that it’s coming at some point. Other cool features like the NAV GRID would be useful too. It would be nice to have an updated roadmap with approx order of features we might see.
Naquaii Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 As have been stated, both the AVIA and the Navgrid pages are planned. No date as of yet though.

Thanks, I did a forum search but it turned up blank. I've purchased a second copy of the C-101 in the mean time, to help with training, so I guess everyone wins (except my wallet, ). i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
