SandMan23 Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Explosion graphic looks terrible following the last update. Entire Lantirn screen whites out after target hit, and the explosion and resulting smoke appears as an ink blot. Is this intentional?
mvsgas Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) Do you mean like on this video at 2:03, 2:37, 2:43, and 3:01 ZhRhEoeJ1Zk or jgUwjpopeLY?start=102 1:42 Edited April 28, 2019 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

Is this intentional?Yep,. that is how it is supposed to look in real life on a IR sensor when an explosion(!) is occurring... the heat of the explosions "blinds" the sensor. EDIT and it was already in from the start, a highly appreciated feature to make it look more real. QuiGon Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 No, this is definitely a bug. On the pilots LANTIRN screen the explosions look totally washed out. On the RIO LANTIRN screen the explosions look totally different and very nice. They do "blind" the sensor and cause screen tearing, but they do as intended and it looks very cool (just like in the videos). Not so on the pilots screen where the explosions look like texture artifacts. I don't know if that happens to everyone, but I definitely have this issue and so does my pilot buddy. The problem hasn't been there from the beginning, but came with one of the recent updates. I'll try to make a screenshot next time I fly with the LANTIRN. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Was just doing some LGB's from the front seat yesterday and the explosions looked fine. Some screen tearing/blinding lines and can see the explosion/smoke etc just fine. 15,000' and GBU-16's. Vampire
