Before getting started, I want to point out that my current hardware/accessories are in my signature. I also have the Delta Sim add-on for the Warthog throttle arriving this week. I also have a 7.5cm extension by Sahaj.

And not to sound like an ass, but as far as price, I'm not worried about that in regard to the VKB and Virpil offerings (although Brunner would definitely be out of my price range at the moment). I've already sunk a lot into my DCS setup, so I may as well just continue :joystick::pilotfly:

If it helps in making recommendations, I should clarify that I am intending to spend most of my time in the DCS F-18 and F-16 modules in the near future.

So the question is, where do I go from here? Virpil base, VKB base? (in an ideal world, I would hold out for a new generation FFB, but that doesn't look reasonable any time soon).

I like the Warthog Throttle quite a lot, but it does seem a bit limiting for more complex aircraft like the F-18 and upcoming F-16. Same for the Warthog stick, although it sounds like various companies - including Thrustmaster - are working on easily swappable options.

Or do I just shut up and consider purchasing some button boxes? (As of now, I have 4 Cougar MFDs and small LCD panels for them).

Thank you!

For support Thrustmaster Warthog, a possible F-18... perhaps Real Simulator F-16, F18 grips ... the practical option is VPC WarBRD or T50CM bases.

VKB option for support Thrustmaster grips (only) is unnecessary complicated.

You need open grip and install a electronic adapter and a mechanical adapter, hence you will need a kit for each Thrustmaster grip you have.

Besides that adapter kit is "sold out" at more than a year.

I mean, if cost isn't a HUGE deal for you, there's this Cougar throttle that you can buy an adapter for. For the F-16 it's the right unit.

I currently use the VKB Gunfighter Pro (with extension) and MCG Pro grip, a love them.

Also currently using a Warthog throttle, eventually I will likely replace it with a Virpil throttle.

I have both mounted using Monster Tech mounts to my desk. An extended mount for the Gunfighter Pro, and a standard mount for the Warthog throttle.

VKB products like Gunfighter and MCG grips can be hard to get, they tend to run in batches every now and then. It can be a long wait.

The new Virpil T-50 CM2 base looks pretty good ( I also have their original T-50), and likely be more realistic lead times to get one.

That looks pretty awesome, although I should probably stick with a twin throttle for versatility (and just leave one of the throttle levers unmapped for single engine aircraft like the F-16).
