Gruw Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 If your version of the game does not have this feature, please be patient. It will appear in the next updates. Ok thanks, I read this trick in another topic long ago. I noticed though that even with 2.5.4.30386 it still doesn't work.
ED Team btd Posted May 29, 2019 ED Team Posted May 29, 2019 Don't you find it is much better this way? How many people - so many opinions) But, as I said, we can not make a sound, as someone like. We are doing as close to reality as possible. It's obvious to me that the new sound is much closer to the real recordings that I have. And it is much nicer to my ears, although it does not matter ;) New Sound: https://yadi.sk/d/dP4Y4w955-dNCw Old Sound: https://yadi.sk/d/ZgI5rrgydVdNpQ Best regards, Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou (btd) https://soundcloud.com/btd
ac5 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 The Hog sounds good again. :) Indeed! And let‘s hope that its other issues are adressed soon, so that we can fly again this bird with its full potential. ac5 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Sound is a personal thing. For me, the old sound is nicer. The new sound sounds like a strong wind. Exactly. And there is a proper sound feedback from the turbines / throttles. as by the way, it is in ALL other DCS jets... Old sound forever! ED Team btd Posted May 29, 2019 ED Team Posted May 29, 2019 (edited) Old sound forever! Heroes of Might&Magic III forever !!! :megalol: And I can repeat it again: if you think that any sounds are wrong, based not on your opinion, but on any good quality sources - give us these sources, and if they outweigh ours, we will fix it. tmansteve Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 I have to say that most of the sound in dcs is pretty good and there seems to be a lot of points taken and worked on when possible. For me, there is only one module that has disappointed me and that's the AV8 Harrier. I have experienced many a flyby at low altitude over my home and not once did they have that awful whine sound. It was a fantastic roar. Yes, when spooling up and down. I have tried to contact Razbam about this and asked if they could tell me the sound files I need to edit but it has fallen on deaf ears. I have tried sound mods but with no real change as such. If anyone knows the files, please let me know and I will do my best to rectify them.
Kid18120 Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 The whining you hear in the harrier is actually pretty realistic, especially when you listen to it on the ground idling. You don't quite hear it on a fly-by because the nozzles exhaust sound overpowers the whining you can hear from the intakes IRL [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Simming since 2005 My Rig: Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming, AMD Ryzen7 2700X, G.Skill RipJaws 32GB DDR4-3200, EVGA RTX 2070 Super Black Gaming, Corsair HX850
tmansteve Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I agree that the sound is pretty good on the ground, but all I get is a weak whine on flyby. I will be trying to find the real sounds again and doing some work myself. This way I can get things the way I like them. Its more a personal thing than anything else.
LaRata Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Details are Super in DCS.... but the sounds are very poor
Nooch Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Depends on the modules. Some have excellent sounds like the Mi-8, L-39, Hornet, Harrier, Mig-15, F-86, F-5... those are more than satisfactory. Others like the Mirage, Viggen or Mig-19 are really poor. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
