Version 19.0 available for testing here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/jjkl6kze5ny29q2/3DmigotoDCS_VR_19.0.zip/file

New feature to lighten Mi24 moving map, new menu for NS430 position/scale, fix for high G, cleaning. An "helicopter" menu page is available to host rotor and Mi24 setting.

You must setup NS430 mode to 1 (display GPS in GUI windows) to setup its position by the menu.

I couldn't get it to activate. I could pull up the menu but it wouldn't change anything in-game.

Activate what ?

Sorry, I tried version 19.0. It would pull up the menu but any change I made would not take. I tried to sharpen the cockpit. Nothing. Tried to reduce haze. Nothing.

Note: You will have issue if DCS is installed in "program file" directory: it will not be possible to save your settings due to windows protection mechanism. You could try to move DCS as explained here (I did not test it) or launch DCS in administrator mode (in this case 3DMigoto Loader.exe should also be launch in admin. mode, if OpenXR mod is to be used)

Does this statement still apply to the latest version: 3DmigotoDCS_VR_19.0_openXR? I usually use the Skatezilla GUI to launch the game in either VR On or VR Off. How can I launch DCS as Admin?

Also, for JSGME do I just place the folder 3DmigotoDCS_VR_19.0_openXR here: C:\Users\Rick\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\_MODS?

hello,

As soon as DCS is installed in in "program file" you have to launch it as admin. I do not know the SkateZilla GUI...Maybe if you launch it as admin it will work...

You can launch the 3DMigoto Loader.exe from any place, as soon as the whole files/directories are still witht it.

As I found a big difference in confort between the sharpen I made in IL2 and in DCS, I had a deeper look and found an issue in the DCS mod.

Here is the version with a far less agressive sharpen : https://www.mediafire.com/file/nykfnrelgqf8ycm/3DmigotoDCS_VR_19.1.zip/file

I also modify FXAA to have it applyed in cockpit part edge (not on texture).

Can you please try it and give feedback ?

I am a newbie and I apologize in advance if the below question is out of context for the specific thread.

I installed the mod and works jsut fine. I have a very respectful VR setup with a NVIDIA RTX 3080ti 12GB GPU, HP Reverb G2 and AMD Ryzen 5600 6-Core CPU.

Witht eh mode installed and the existing graphic choices (which I have collected from various posts in various threads in these forums) I am getting 30FPS when flying low or at airport level and >40 FPS when flying high....I understand that this is the norm. Can you pls confirm?

Secondly and here is the question related also to this mod. Cockpit somtimes loks as a bit....dont know how to describe it... liquid in the edges... especially when i have shadows inside the cockpit.. Any recomendation which variable I should be checking?

Again I apolgize if this is out of context and please direct me to the right place.

Thanks

Edit: This si only in standalone via OpenXR

It appears that FXAA function expects 9 parameters now (in FXAA.hlsl) instead of 8 before (v18.1.2) with the addition of int noborder.

float3 FXAA(Texture1D<float4> IniParams, SamplerState OrigSampler_s, Texture2D<float4> image2process, Texture2D<float4> cockpitMaskText, Texture2D<float4> HUDText, float3 origColorRGB, int2 coord, float4 UVcoord, int noborder)

Soft seems broken (at least for haze) when using DCS native OpenXR.

The last OB change illumination shader, so haze and effect linked to cockpit detection are no more working.

Thanks for reporting issue with FXAA.

I did some quick checks with new OpenXR support and found huge impact of the mod on fps...I'll check.

You should be more accurate. Whic scenario, which fps before the pod, which fps after. You should have ~5 fps loss, but I found much more with last beta and native OpenXR support, I nerd to check.

In Caucasus, standalone play. I had OpenXR motion reprojectino on. I used to get 30ish in airport level and 45ish at high altitude. I turned it off. Set PD in DCS at 0.7 and in Open XR 250%. With high clouds and shadows but no MSAA, I get 50ish in  a dogfight and if I look high at the sky (where there ar no couds just single color blue) around max 70. I have a Reverb G2 set to operate at 90Hz. I dont use the 2.8 BETA. I use the 2.8.

There is however strange thing that is happening pretty often. When i start the game fresh, and I begin one of the ready made misions or trainings, there is too much Lumar...... dont knwo how to call it... to the point where HUD when turned towards a white cloud is invisible...!!!  Once I exit the game and return ot the menu, I can still see the outline/contour of the entire cockpit!. I exit completely the game and restart it to get it fixed without changing any setting... ANy idea what that might be?

Hi any idea how this interacts with VirtualDesktop? The OpenXR version seems to be recognizing the game with VD, the ingame menu seems to work, however the effects are inconsistent. E.g. the color corrections seems to sometimes work and sometimes it doesnt, it switches on and off midflight depending on parameters i havent quite figured out yet. Anyway this shows me the app is generally working but seems to be buggy.

Did you do the troubleshooting guide at the first post to ensure you have a compliant configuration with the mod ? Can you post a track showing the issue ?

The global problem is I can only modify low level shaders without having the full view of the game, and it's specificities. For example, AV8 cockpit glass shader was not the same in 2 different mission in the past, but this is no more existing yet. Or the shader I use for color change is not the same regarding G factor. The only way to cope with this is to have feedback and include new specific cases reported.

Thanks a lot ! So far so good.
Performance seems yet slightly lower than before but haze feature is back.

I did some measurement and did not notice a big change.

You can anyway try to comment  (put a ";" at the beginning of the line) these two "include" lines in d3dx.ini :

;------------------------------------------------------------------------
; flat shadow, to comment if needed
;------------------------------------------------------------------------
include = ShaderFixes\shadows.ini

;------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Mi24 cockpit, to comment if needed
;------------------------------------------------------------------------
include = ShaderFixes\Mi24cockpit.ini

first one is linked to shadow desabling (I did not notice any fps change when disabling shadow) and second one is linked to mi24 map enlightening.

It reduce the number of shaders call "monitored" by the mod.

I did not advertise them but if you can give some feedback.

I had some tests and I didn't notice big change either. At least, I have the same performance than DCS without 3dmigoto.

Anyway, I saw several warnings in the d3d11_log.txt you might want to look at :
warning X4121: gradient-based operations must be moved out of flow control to prevent divergence. Pe
rformance may improve by using a non-gradient operation

And still getting some errors too :
bin\3dmigoto\ShaderFixes\000000005b2834a5.hlsl(169,20-161): error X3013: 'FXAA': no matching 8 parameter function
