amalahama Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Hi!! Well, I have been reading a Ka-50 monograph this days and I see a lot of interesting stuff which I would glad to see in BlackShark. OK, this is the chapter: You can see not only Vikhr and B-8 rocket pods can be loaded in Ka-50, but KMGU containers and some FAB bombs too (And FAB bombs were actively used in Afghanistan by Hinds). In other pages you can see external fuel tanks, R-73 and Kh-25MP antiradiation missiles (but I don't think that they are operational now) My question is, apart of rocket,Vikhr missiles and external UPK-23 cannon pods, we will see FAB bombs, KGMU dispensers and External tanks in BS?? Regards!!!
britgliderpilot Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 As I understand it, that scanned image is an accurate representation of the operational weapons available on the Ka50. And Black Shark is all about accuracy ;) 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
GGTharos Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 On the other hand, R-73's and Kh-25's? Not so much ;) 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Force_Feedback Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 External fuel tanks are operational, there are walkaround photos showing those things on the ka-50, even with lateral shock absorbers. The Kh-25 is only 'operationally' used on the Ka-52, which is quite unique by itself, considering the number in service ;) So is the R-73 --> ka-52. There is a photo of a ka-50 mock-up with a K-73, R-60, Igla-Vx2 and kh-25ML in front of it. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Avimimus Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Yes, As for the issue of IR air-to-air missiles being repeatedly shown with the helicopter...they may be useful at intermediate ranges, those ranges outside effective cannon range but still close enough that the target would be changing aspect quickly. Here the faster response time, simplicity of seeker and maneuverability would matter. I still believe that the Ka-50 series will be offered with IR AAMs (as is the case with the Ergodan submission) and also long range, semi-active air to ground missiles (which simply make sense).
Avimimus Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Btw. Doesn't the UPK-23-250 actually have 260 round... :D
ED Team Groove Posted September 10, 2007 ED Team Posted September 10, 2007 Guys, give rep to GG and britgliderpilot ;) Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
GGTharos Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Mock-ups don't count (there have been a number of mock-ups sporting R-73's, or non-functional R-73's, or R-73's used for testing) ... btw, where's the pilot? O.o Point is ... no operational R-73 use by the army? No R-73 for BS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Mechanist Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Just give us the bombs, R-73 are for fighters and fighter only make movies :). I'm sure most of the further Ka-50 pilots wants to make history. So let the bombs fall! Even from helicopters. It's gonna be like droping bombs in the IL-2 :D "Fighters make movies, bombers make history."
amalahama Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 I've opened this post for asking FAB bombs and KGMU dispensers in BlackShark. There already is a post regarding the R-73 in Ka-50. I'm not at all interested in helo-to-helo combat - That is for mad boys Regards!!!
Vekkinho Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 It's possible to mount KMGU and FAB on Ka-50 with FC1.12a so having these two available in BS shouldn't be an issue!;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ALDEGA Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Mock-ups don't count.How do you know it's a mock-up?
GGTharos Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 The black stripes :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Force_Feedback Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 How do you know it's a mock-up? The lack of moving parts, tail fins are all wrong, you see 4 screws on the mountings with a real R-73. This is a real, wooden, R-73, I name it the R-73w00t Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
ED Team Groove Posted September 10, 2007 ED Team Posted September 10, 2007 Your R-73W is very CO2 friendly then FF ! Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
