This has been a persistent bug for me- to the point where I hand-fly night landings instead of using this system.

Just for grins, tried it on a nice, day/VMC scenario just to see what would happen. Sure enough, system works like a champ UNTIL you are cross the ramp, then suddenly the left wing dips hard and the aircraft prangs.

No, I'm not touching anything.

Anyone else been experiencing this?

+1, for the right wing. Oddly, it only happened when I was RIO for a buddy, it worked fine when I was piloting.

Here are some twitch clips (ignore the hornet mfd symbology, the video was taken by an observer in a different plane):

There are videos on fifth message. This has happened to me since day one or whenever ACLS was introduced. Always that right bank just before arriving on ships stern.

No hands on stick or throttle or any button whatsoever.

Hi thank you for reminding me to get back to this. So I tested this several times and was unable to reproduce it on my side. ACLS guides me in all the way usually resulting in a clean 3 wire. Now, of course I believe you, but to help us hunt this down, I would need the following from you please:

1. System specs and hardware

2. Pilot or RIO position?

3. Mission file

4. Track (if you make a short track it should work)

5. If possible log files

6. If possible video from cockpit view with control indicator enabled and clearly showing a view of the PDCP, and which AP switches you have engaged as well as the position of your autothrottle switch.

Thank you! If you cannot provide everything, anything you can provide will help, mission file and track above all.

PS: In case what you are doing is in Singleplayer and you are switching from pilot to RIO seat, Iceman will not hold the ACLS AP or AP at all, if close to stall speed it is possible that he crashes it or dips it etc.

I marked it as bug for now, although I am not entirely sure yet, if it is really a bug or maybe a wrong step in the procedure (just trying not to exclude any possibility).

ACLS rolls aircraft at the stern of the ship

ACLS connects and guides as expected until crossing over the round down on the Stennis at which point it commands a roll. Sometimes it's to the left and sometimes the right.

During testing with friends, it seems to effect some of us consistently while others have never encountered the problem. This is the case on the same mission / server at the same time with all other variables being equal as far as we can tell.

Personally, upon F-14 early access release, this system worked fine for me, but at some early patch it started behaving this way.

Thank you, this has been reported already, but we have not been able to reproduce it yet. For me the ACLS works as intended 10/10.

Thank you for providing such detail in tracks and everything, hopefully this will bring us closer to this mystery, we have been hunting this bug for a while now. I really hope we can find a fix soon.

EDIT: I just saw your PM, John, thank you so much for putting the material together, sorry it took me a second to connect the dots. I merged your new thread back into this one. I hope this will finally enable us to get to the root of the issue!

Sorry about the lack of my test. I have some PC issues and can't try it for now.

But as far as I can remember, johnv2pt0's video shows the exact same problem as I have pretty much everytime that I recall. Mine just always bank to right.

I'm using X-55 hotas system with 6% deadzone. My hards are completely off the stick and throttle. It works just fine on approach until second before touch to the deck.

Hi Heatblur and other Guys...

i think that i found the solution…. for me it was my own fault!

At the aproach i switched all the Autopilot Chanels to on.

Thats the mistake! Dont switch altitute and heading holt on !

Only the Autopilotselector to ACL and the Autopilotswitch to engage.

Sry Heatblur for all the trouble…

pls… Guys check if the Problem is now fixed for you !
