Ron Attwood
I have a HU-1H doing a figure 8 circuit along with a couple of Jeeps and a bus also doings routes round the airport. These underpaid souls are doing this for a bit of ambience. The Jeeps and the bus keep going till the cows come home but the helicopter pilot seems to get bored after a few hours. He leaves his route, heads off into the sunset never to be seen again, not until the mission has been reloaded. I've poured over the settings and fail to see what it is that causes him to 'down tools'. Anyone have a pointer for me...please. :(

Ron Attwood
Mm, I did think of that and gave him 100%. On top of that my server is set to unlimited fuel (would that apply to AI as well?) I THINK I've attached the .miz Edited July 22, 2019 by Ron Attwood Ahah! ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 22, 2019 ED Team Share Posted July 22, 2019 Hi I don't think it applies to AI also, only player. But I will check The UH-1H is running out of fuel and returning to the airfield to land. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? There probably is but you'll likely need a PHD in quantum physics to work out how. :music_whistling:

Ron Attwood
That sounds waaay above my pay grade. I really appreciate your help. The issue isn't that serious, it was the not knowing how to fix it that was driving me nuts. Actually, it's pretty cool that he returns to the airport and lands. I would half expect him to run out of fuel and crash. Clever ol' AI. :smilewink:

ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 23, 2019 ED Team Share Posted July 23, 2019 Same thing happens to me.....In tackview u can see whats happening to the AI. Usually they crash in water. As long as you set the AI to RTB for fuel in advanced waypoint actions you should be ok, it should return to the nearest friendly base and shut down. If you don't and it is not in reach of the base it will crash. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ENO
Hmmm in my experience with RTB in advanced waypoint actions the AI will just RTB when it hits that waypoint... It doesn’t make it run a check to see if it’ll make it another cycle and then send it home. Not sure if that’s changed? "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret.
