nickcdart Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Hi all, So this is way weird. Since the last 2 updates I have seen a noticeable drop in performance in DCS World and some weird CTD issues plus very weird behavior on Take off. So for example in a quick mission: I typically select the A10C or F18, start from runway, in any map, any weather, any time of day with random enemies etc...and on rolling the aircraft drops below the runway! WTF! You can recover but you are flying underneath the map! EH! Also, you can fly through the map and resume the flight, only you cannot land! This happens in both the beta and stable with Oculus Rift S only. Not in 2D! Every time this happens either at the beginning of the flight or during I experience a FULL CTD event. I always opt to send the data so the devs will have it. So currently for me, I cannot use DCS since the last 2 updates with my HMD at all. Anybody else experiencing this? dburne Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 How does the Rift S do on other games? It sounds more like a tracking issue with the headset versus a DCS issue. You can rule out DCS by doing a repair of DCS. You can also do a repair of Oculus - by downloading the installer again and after launching choosing to repair. It will still download all of the files but will do an inplace repair keeping your games/settings intact. You might also try - if you have not - opting in to the Public Test Channel for the Rift S. It will get you the very latest software and firmware that has been pushed out for user feedback. nickcdart Posted July 28, 2019 Author Posted July 28, 2019 Sounds like a plan on both options. I will attempt repairs on DCS. I have already tried repairs on Oculus and the latest drivers are on. I will opt into the Public test channel for rift s, good idea. Cheers @svsmokey and dburne
nickcdart Posted July 28, 2019 Author Posted July 28, 2019 By the way, all other games work great, no issues!
