DeathAngel1 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Yes, with - and =, as BIGNEWY said, but its very uncomfortable. If you have a HOTAS with more buttons, I highly recommend you to map any buttons for zoom. ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..

Revs Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 If you have problem with tpod auto/staying zoomed in, remove radar elevation axis assignment and just assign up and down button. Took me a while to figure that out. silentbob11 Posted August 2, 2019 Author Posted August 2, 2019 OK thanks I'll try the =/- keys cause unfortunately I don't have a HOTAS, just an old MSFF2 stick. I do plan on upgrading very soon and will appreciate any recommendations from you guys. Mind you that my budget is not too flexible right now so I am considering just a stick and not a stick and throttle bundle. tahnx! KittyVCAW-1 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 (edited) Thrustmaster TWCS throttle is modeled almost exactly like the f/a-18 throttle and is only $60. I didnt like the feel of it at first but after some tweaking and breaking in I quite like it. Also has an awesome spring loaded paddle with a center detent that is absolutely perfect for antenna elevation control and the TGP zoom function. You aren't gonna find that on any other throttle out there right now afaik. The actual "dial" to control the antenna is on the throttle but its not an axis and control is not proportional. It either full speed up or down, you cant move it slowly for more precision. So I prefer the paddle. There are also like an extra 8 buttons on the throttle you can use for weapons select or whatever you cant fit onto your stick. It really is a decent inexpensive throttle well suited for the F-18 module. You can pick one up separately later down the road or in a bundle with the stick which also is pretty decent for the money IMO. Edited August 2, 2019 by Jonnie2Bad Nobody likes me because I'm unsafe.
Revs Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 That is how I had mine set up for the radar elev. but gives me problem with TGP zoom. It stays zoomed in. Had to map them to buttons. SB11 You can check out Thrustmaster’s TFlightHotasX or the newer T16000M. I use the former and it gets the job done. The latter I see has a nice throttle but I dislike the stick having it’s many buttons on the base.
