some1 Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I noticed that some HOTAS functions which require the pilot to hold a button for ~1 second will activate only on button release (if the button has been held down long enough). I would expect them to activate as soon as 1 second passes, while the button is still pressed. The ones I noticed are: 1. HMD LACQ activation (hold Sensor Control Switch forward) 2. TGP FLIR/CCD toggle (hold FOV button) The current implementation makes it easy to activate the wrong function, unless the pilot is counting "Mississippis" in his head. So I doubt it's implemented like that in the real aircraft. Right now it's like this: Button pressed ----------> 1 second passed ----------> Button released & Function Activated Should be like this: Button pressed ----------> 1 second passed & Function Activated ----------> Button released 1 Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Py Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I agree! Actually I was just coming here to write about the same topic. The period is 0.8 seconds, but it's easy to accidentally hold for too short when concentrating on other things in a busy situation. If that is how it really works then fine (but bad design!), otherwise it would be nice to have it fixed.
Nealius Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I thought something was odd about that behavior. Coming from the A-10C I found it to be very odd and I would frequently toggle FOV instead of switching between CCD and FLIR.
Svend_Dellepude Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 +1 I think its just an oversight. Solved by programming my WH in target. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.
some1 Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 TGP FLIR/CCD toggle has been fixed, but HMD LACQ activation (hold Sensor Control Switch forward) is still bad.
