Alfredson007 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Now i am far from a good dogfighter but killing Mig-21 is always fun. A tad easy with modern A2A weaponry. So i tried to use air to ground rockets instead! It turned out to be quite an epic dogfight:

Thank you ;) Actually atm if i play using borderless screen i get terrible fps, so i have to alt-enter for fullscreen, no idea why. i also had chrome open when i was recording (it may cause stuttering sometimes) I have old i5-4670k 16gb ram and 1070 gtx. Ssd installation and 1080p gameplay. Everything is "high", msaa 4x ssaa is off. Terrain shadows must be flat, that i hate, otherwise i get low fps near the ground. I use vsync that limits the fps, not ideal... generally i am really pleased how smoothly DCS works thesedays, for a flight sim!

However, remaining few hundred lbs of gas you should use to run away as far as you could from angry villagers you harassed with rockets before you would need to punch out. This is actually ground-attack test mission, you can see the antenna and the units, i was suppose to attack. It once happened that i shot my two sidewinders without hitting the mig, and even managed to only damage it with cannon until i ran out.... so i was like, hell, i got rockets, why not to try that, and i did. Then i decided to try it again, i still have the 9 mikes on my wings but solely using rockets this time. What next? Bomb the mig21? :-))
Gierasimov Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 My favourite was when I out-manoeuvred Fishbed in Khasab region hills, having him on my six all the time, while going over the top, inverted and pulled going down, he followed and slammed into rocks. Bombing is easy... did that many times already!
