Difference between default position FLIR, LTD/R switches

I found a difference between the default position of the FLIR, LTD/R switches in singleplayer and multiplayer. In the single player, the switches are correctly in the OFF and AFT positions. In multiplayer, the switches are in the STBY, SAFE position. It seems illogical to me, but the point is that this wrong default position in multiplayer means that in the case of the FLIR switch, it must be cycled to get the TGP ready.

Why was it moved from the bug section to the wish list section? I don't think it's okay for the aircraft to have default switch positions other in single player and other in multiplayer. So I think it belongs to the bug report section. I would appreciate some feedback.

What kind of start is in both cases? Cold, hot from parking or runway, in air? There is not enough information to make any assumptions what is going on.

Correct. As far as FLIR does, at least on the cold carrier start in multiplayer, the default position is STBY.

The "FLIR" menu will not display on DDI's as it would on standby unless you manually set it to OFF and back to STBY.

I checked mine at airfields in SP and MP and on and off CV they seem ok for me.

 

Unless I am missing something.

 

If you have a short track replay showing this in SP and then a short track in MP we will take a look.

Do you have synchronise cockpit controls with HOTAS ticked in MISC settings in DCS and are those keys mapped?

 

No, I don't have it unchecked. I don't have to map anything like that. I only connected the joystick to the computer.

I pretty much only fly in MP and almost always start cold and dark. Every time, the FLIR is in STBY. I don't have any controls mapped to it so it isn't a sync thing.

 

I actually came to the wish list section today to ask that the default be set to OFF. I never realized it was different in SP.

 

I used to work on the Nitehawk FLIR pod and one of our issues was with pilots trapping without it stowed. So, yeah, can we please have it default to OFF. It just bugs me seeing it on STBY. Granted, I think it stows when you put it in STBY, but still, it should by OFF by default.
