Buying F-14 question.

Ok, after going back and forth on the F-18 or the F-14 I think I decided on the F-14. My question is I read there is an AI RIO is in your plane. Just how much of the workload do they do?

At the moment, AI-Jester can not handle the LANTIRN TGP - so you will not able to guide GBU-12 into the target - you will need a sec. laser source [like a JTAC].

Also, VAI has a module to use Voice Attack integrated with Jester. It was a pain to get it working but I found it to be game changing.

Get a human RIO. If you don't have one, find one. You'll save yourself a lot of time not having to fiddle with the JESTER AI system and have someone in the back to complain about your 4 wires as the Admiral and LSO grab their paddles to prepare a duo session for you and the RIO.

Yeah, RIOs have a tendency to complain a lot about the pilots ability to handle the aircraft properly :D

But you can use a mod to control the LANTIRN pod as the pilot which I have been using a lot and it's really great for when I don't have a human RIO.
