Eagle7907 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Hey guys, I think I discovered something unintentionally today. I loaded up a Tomcat with 8 rockeyes, 2 winders, and 2 bags. Started from ramp at Tonopha? in Nevada. Started up correctly, taxied to runway, only used maneuver flaps and rolled down the runway. I started pulling up at 150kts then the jet rolled forward and left. So I pulled hard to get the jet off because I knew something happened. I left the gear down because I thought maybe I blew a tire. Checked for damage by F2 view. Not a scratch, tires still present and in one piece. So I continue mission. Drop my bombs and RTB. When I touch down, the jet slides all over the place and the main wheels look sunk in to the ground. After my Tokyo Drift finished, I shrugged and said “Early Access”. Does this mean certain animations for damage are not complete? Like tire separation? The Falcon Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 But has it only happened once or does it always do?
IronMike Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Thank you for reporting. Yes, the question is, does this happen every time at Tonopah or other runways or did it happen just once? Eagle7907 Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 Weird takeoff Only once. That makes it weird. I didn't try to duplicate yet, I'll do that today with a few tracks, hopefully. sLYFa Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I've had a blown tire at 150kts at Al Dafra once, TOW 70000lbs. Shouldn't happen IMO since the max tire speed is 190kts, bet then again, FODs happen. i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
Eagle7907 Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 Weird takeoff I just tried twice to recreate this. No success. Both times was at same airport. I remember just before it did the weird rolling left and forward on runway, the nose was bouncing pretty well to simulate uneven surface during takeoff roll. I didn’t pull back until after the bouncing started. Maybe there is a problem with that? I don’t know. If the tires didn’t separate or blow out, then it’s got to be an anomaly with surfaces. It’s not weather related. Winds are calm. High pressure. Temps around 30. When I landed and slid to a stop all tires were present and no damage but the wheels for mains were not on ground. Like halfway into the ground. May be a map issue. I wish I could get a track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I've seen this as well following a landing at Abu Dhabi, I still standby my statement in a blown tire with a bit of visual glitch F-14 | F/A-18C | F-16C | AJS-37 | M-2000C | A-10C | UH-1H | F-5E | P-51 | Bf 109 Nevada | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Supercarrier YouTube | Steam | Discord: JayBird#4400 i7-7700K | GTX 980 | 32gb RAM | 500gb SSD | 2TB HDD| Track IR | TM Warthog HOTAS | Logitech Pro Pedals
jmarso Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Just curious, and not a criticism of any sort. Are you guys RL pilots or pure sim pilots?

draconus Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 I did some drifting at Groom Lake AFB and I'm pretty sure blown tires are either not modelled yet or bugged. What I got was the wheel would go underground down to the rim level but no visual damage to the tire. Beside the aircraft tilt not much feeling of blown tire and it's still not that easy to blow it.
