Hi Guys

I am having issues getting my smart bombs to be smart! Although I have everything selected with no errors. I pull the trigger and get the L/TR message and the bomb misses completely!

Do you need to hold the trigger for the lase until impact?

Or is there anything else anyone can think off that is getting in the way?

Thanks

L/TR is correct. Maybe something else.

Check laser code is entered on all bombs individually (T-P.O.D. is 1688 by default). Check laser range is less than 6 miles when guiding. Laser should be turned on 5-20 seconds before impact so bomb doesn't fall short. Check AUTO bomb mode (CCIP drops them dumb).

Are you arming your GBUs correctly (MFUZ Off, EFUZ INST) and setting them up to use the same laser code as your TGP (1688 by default)?

Right now, the trigger toggles the laser. As long as L ARM becomes LTD/R in the TGP page, you're lasing.

There's a bug with the AUTO release cue, where it will take the elevation of the selected waypoint as the target's elevation, even if you have set the target point with the TGP. A workaround is to set all the waypoints close to the target area (or in general) at ground level.

Yes, but you don't need to fire right away. I like to fire it at 10-13 seconds before impact. Also you need to maintain visual with target on TGP screen so as to ensure lasing properly. If you cant see target neither can laser.

Perhaps giving enough fall time to your bomb before turning the laser on....

The small wings on both guided bombs needs quite a lot of speed to be effecient.

I believe (this is just personnal) that "lasing" before dropping the bomb may not be a good idea, as on the A10C, there is an input to set the laser to automatically point at the target AFTER the bomb is dropped...
