The new Font Scaling option is very welcome as it means that 4K users don't have to use mods to make the font readable.

However, in some missions, the text doesn't size correctly until the 2nd or 3rd instruction.

Most of the time it works fine for me, but sometimes not. Examples are the Viggen Cold Start and Taxi training missions. Needs a couple of space bar presses to size correctly.

Attachments show what I mean. First is the first instruction, and the second is a couple of space bar presses later.

I can confirm. During a tutorial, this has also happened to me. First of all, font scled as set in gui, then after a couple of blocks of text, back to 1x scale.

Triple Screen using 3 monitors.

 

I have the new Font Size option set to 1.5. But I noticed today that when I press Active Pause it resets to the normal small size. :cry:

Agree, and also when I do some training missions, the font is sometimes still small.

 

 

 

When the larger font is applied, it is even sometimes not possible to read the whole tutorial text, because of too much text and it is cut. There is no scrolling possible - should be.

This issue is still with us in latest patch. Happens in Hornet Training Missions and various other modules.

Why has this thread not been marked by ED yet?

Messages Font Scale Still Not Working Consistently

 

Can't see if this has been reported before or not. I did a search on 'Messages Font Scale' but nothing relevant came up.

After several updates, the 'messages font scale' is still not working correctly. I have mine set to 1.5 on my 4K monitor, and when it displays correctly, that makes a big difference.

However, it doesn't consistently do that. Sometimes it's the original 1.0 size, sometimes 1.5 and sometimes a mix.

I know there was a thread on this months ago, but I can't find it now.

 

I am just wondering how long it is going to take to fix the issue of Message Font Scaling not working correctly, certainly in 4K?

 

No matter what the setting is set to, only the first message is correctly set to that font size. If there are 2 on screen, then the older goes back to the original default of 1.0 and is very difficult to read in 4K. See attached for an example.

Yes, I posted over 3 months ago and also about 3 weeks ago. No, it's still not working, and it seems ED doesn't care, as several threads have gotten NO response.

 

A simple acknowledgment that it's on the list to be fixed would be nice...

Yep, frustrating. Those were not the threads I contributed to, so there are more out there.

As you say, it would be good to get a [REPORTED] marked on this issue.

I sincerely hope this is not by design, because in certain missions, e.g. any of the Harrier training ones, a second message saying 'press space bar when ready' pops up immediately after the first, and makes it almost impossible to read the instructions given first!
