MoGas Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Su-33 Severomorsk http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7434912035542823676#docid=3028895372107453312 how many of those tandem seating SU-33 are around?
Vekkinho Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 It's very rare, 2 or 3 airframes at max. One from the video was the first one built. It was designed for a purpose of training Su-33 aviators but many of Naval Flankers aren't airworthy anymore so KUB development was canceled. There's in between 10 and 15 functional Su-33 today! mvsgas Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Those boom operators in KC-135 are real jerks sometimes, I've seen few Falcons completely torn by booms. It happens, pilots and boom operator need training to, they have to get train some how. I seen a F-16 where the boom gouge the back of the jet and broke a couple of antennas. IIRC, it was about 6 inches from hitting the back part of the canopy. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
FeoFUN Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl5xtv5zRsA Oops! That was close.
mvsgas Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 :music_whistling: They flew with the 309th FS at Luke AFB. A block 25 squadron flying some of the oldest, if not the oldest F-16 in the USAF inventory (5000 hours+) Most models are circa 1984 give or take. So of course they won most dogfights. http://www.luke.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123109459 http://www.luke.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/080729-F-8519O-123.jpg To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Pilotasso Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 PoAF F-16 S/N 15133 about to return to service after having dug a trench in a ducth base last year. It suffered a structural check up. Crash: Taxi tests last week: With this, if my count is not mistakened, completes the fleet of the first 20 MLU's. The rest of the block 15's will be retired and boxed up for convertion this year. 1 .
Pilotasso Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Plane skidded at the runway during landing, the pilot ejected safely and the plane continued skidding untill it ran off the end sidways. The wing hit the ground riping off alot of wet soil. The Pilot was obliged to eject and this even is covered by standard emergecy procedures. .
