That looks like fun :)

Bit OT, but I flew into Wlg during earlier in the same storm as in this video (Evening of 31st).

The news said the highest gust recorded that day was 140km/h, and the wind wasn't quite so aligned with the runway - as the pilot tried to straighten up after getting the up-wind wheel down, he rolled right through, lifted both wheels off and had to straighten and slam it down on the second attempt. Like at 3:40, but worse :-) We stopped a long way down the runway.

Yeah, carefull with mixing things here. NATO/Russian designations are following:

Typhoon/Akula

Akula/Shuka

Totally different subs with different jobs.

And that picture can hardly be used for comparison. Borei is in fact almost as long as Typhoon.

Borei (Yuriy Dolgorukiy) and two “small” Akulas (Arkhangel'sk and Severstal'). By the way Project 941 Akula nicknamed in Russia Navy as “Vodovoz” (water carrier).

Severodvinsk (Project 885 Yasen').

That is one funky looking plane

"The art of simulation design is about understanding limited fidelity...

...compromises must be made. Designers have to consider cost vs. fidelity and processor time vs. fidelity. Additional trade-offs must be made between graphics, AI, flight models, number of units and more...

...never ask the pilot what he wants to learn because he too will end up building an airplane. Instead, ask the pilot what he needs to learn."
