JellyBean Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 (edited) Air to air refuelling is such as wonderfully intense, intimate part of DCS. I spend a lot of my time practicing it, more so than carrier landings. And from the forum lots other other people spend a lot of time and effort in this phase of flight too. It is great and challenging as it is today but I would love it to get some more attention and take it to the next level. High on my wishlist would be: 1. Updating the models for the S3 and other tankers so they look as good as flying in close formation with other bugs, tomcats etc. For example, when I'm behind the S3 looking at the engine cowlings they aren't fully rounded, the formation lights don't actually align to the wingtips or tail. Perhaps this relates to my graphics settings but I don't think so as I haven't noticed this when in formation with non-AI aircraft types. 2. Upgrading the dynamics of the hose and basket. I'm not great at refuelling and often fly through the basket. It would be great if it could slide along/bounce off the nose or canopy as opposed to going through them. 3. Probe and basket interaction. That moment where the probe and basket connect is pretty binary, if you are close enough it just instantly clicks into place. Would be great for that to be refined a bit too. 5. Hose whipping. As a youtube warrior I've seen clips of the hose really whipping around or looping over (particularly when at the end of booms) when the refuelling aircraft connects. 5. Fuel spilling. Perhaps this is a damage model thing. But it is the reason why you select the left air intake on the tomcat. I'm grateful for how much 'fun' it is at the moment but would love to see it continue to be refined further. Thanks Edited October 8, 2019 by JellyBean
razo+r Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 They are working on a new S-3 model as well as new dynamics, hence why we are still waiting on wags to drop an AAR video for the Hornet
Bimbac Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 I would personally prefer the ability to ask for a specific amount of fuel, and more realistic communications, especially before and after making turns. This and the points that everybody already mentioned. Sent via mobile phone using Tapatalk
