I want to make some camo livery but I cannot figure out how you can have all the rivets still visible without layers, while overpainting the whole camo pattern?

Any quick tutorial how to make it PS? :)

Opacity helps..

What aircraft are you trying to do?

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

It's currently all temporary until the official layered template is out. Then it'll be easier.

building weathering:

1- take the roughmet file

2-Put it above my paint

3-Turn it to black and white

4-Adjust light and contrast to get a clear weathered but not too much or it will be pixelated .

and you get sort of weathering

to get a better clear lines and rivets:

1- Use the normal texture file

2- Invert it

3- Turn it to black and white

4- Use autotone

5- Put it above and multiply

6- Adjuste layer opacity (for this one for example i use 80% opacity)

I finally apply both files on top of each others to get weathering and lines and rivets

PS: This is just my technique and not a law, maybe other persons use different tricks.

Has anyone had an issue where the F-16 wings are showing up a completely different shade when creating your liveries?

For Panels/Rivets, Use Normal Map

For Weathering/Grime, Use RoughMet (Red is A.O., Green is Roughness, Blue is Metallic Channel).

However,

The issue here is Liveries made now might not work long, as the UVW Coordinates and Stuff will change as items are added or adjusted for clarity on the UVW Maps.

I Made a F-86F Template and maintained it until BST Finalized theirs, and items were constantly shifting as they developed the 3D Model, users had to keep re-exporting and adjusting their liveries.

Same thing will happen here.
