Octav Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Those fighters made history, so it's a real shame we don't even have the MiG-21 as an AI plane. Maybe for LOMAC 2 (or something), somebody might consider giving them a chance? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee :D Octav
Kula66 Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 I'd love to see a Mig-21 (even non-flyable) ... swarms of Fishbeds v a wall of Eagles!!! James
Octav Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 I'd love to see a Mig-21 (even non-flyable) ... swarms of Fishbeds v a wall of Eagles!!! James I have the sensation the 15's would loose to the sheer numbers of 21's
Starlight Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 I'd love to see a Mig-21 (even non-flyable) ... swarms of Fishbeds v a wall of Eagles!!! James I agree, I'd love to see the Fishbed in action since it's one of the main aircraft of the last 40 years. There used to be thousands around the world, it's important as the Phantom.

Drakkhen Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Yeah, 21 is great. Anyway, making some more of the present planes flyable (as you said 23, and others...) would be great. Not simulated yet: MiG25 Foxbat Su-17 Fitter Mirage2000 F-5 Tiger Already found in other simulators: Hornet And having two-seat planes flyable MP would kick some (F15StrikeEagleIII and Hind did it if I'm not amnesic). Tomcat, Tornado, Phantom, Foxhound,... so many way to reach ]-[eaven. James I have the sensation the 15's would loose to the sheer numbers of 21's I have the feeling that the MiG-21's would go down in droves given that they apparently can't really detect AMRAAMs coming in ... the F-15s just need to stay away and force the MiG-21's to expend their precious little fuel, no? O.o [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Kula66 Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 I've tried 4 Eagles v 12 Floggers ... and usually survive! But these MLDs(?) are not bad ... poor weapon load, both number and quality (The R-60 is soo short range). I can see why Israel has managed to shoot down so many of the export ones flying F-15s! James
VapoR Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 I think the MiG-23/27 would rock! But before that, it would be nice to have some Euro planes: Mirage 2000 or possibly a Jaguar (keeping with the single seater theme). Some cool Jaguar pics: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/AWA1/101-200/walk132_Jaguar/walk132.htm http://www.gatwick-aviation-museum.co.uk/jaguar/jaguar.html http://sepecat.info/

James Well the export ones where a different kind of bird. Baisc same avionics as the Mig21 Bis . Almost same loadouts. But as one wrote here Su17M4 shouln't be too much different then the Su 25 :)
britgliderpilot Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 And having two-seat planes flyable MP would kick some (F15StrikeEagleIII and Hind did it if I'm not amnesic). Tomcat, Tornado, Phantom, Foxhound,... so many way to reach ]-[eaven. The very basic outline is there for two-seaters in MP, but would require a fair bit of work to be done on them. In any case, big-style new flyables are pretty much out . . . . . which certainly rules out the ones you mention, even if lack of ground radar and other unsupported avionics didn't make them impossible. The easiest one to do would be the Su30 - but like I said, it would still require significant recoding and new goodies before it could be done properly. In the meantime, though . . . . go to http://www.lockonskins.co.uk, go to Mods, and find the Su27UB. Two seats for MP . . . . there's more detail in the mod itself. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
SUBS17 Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 I have to agree with you on the Su 30, the question that is on my mind is what does ED think of the 2 seat MODs ? And would they be considering such an approach for a future add-on? I like the idea of 2 seater multiplayer but I also like 2 seater single player with a toggle switch to jump from front to back seat etc like Janes F-15. cheers Subs [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
F l a n k e r Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Oh yes! I love MiG 21/23/27 and Su 7/20 !!!!

Well I have to rely on iffy translations, but it was mentioned on the Russian forums. General idea is that the LAN Instructor feature was never intended to do what it's been made to do, but it was a neat trick that it HAD been done, and that it was about the best a member of the community could do . . . . which kind of silenced the "OMFG it's a mutant!!!11!!one!" crowd  To be fair, the first one I did was pretty mutated - but I wanted something I could use to train a mate in carrier landing. The Su27UB is about the best of the lot, and is pretty accurate . . . . with some cockpit texture modding, it would be about right. ED have said elsewhere that they DO want to include two-seat functionality in "future projects", and apparently the LAN Instructor mode has been replaced by Internet Instructor in v1.1 . . . . . so things should be mildly improved, at least  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
SUBS17 Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 V1.1 internet instructor...thats interesting news great mods BTW cheers Subs [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
kyjko Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 I'd also love to see Mig-21/23 flyable, heck as many different flyables as possible would be great. However, it would be great to have the Mirage 2000-5 as flyable - mainly because it's an entire new and different weapons set that would be incorporated into the sim for us - i.e. - MICA, 550, Magic missiles etc. It would make online fights a lot more fun and interesting because of the different missiles. Just my opinion.
Avimimus Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 We can always dream... an afganistan field mod Mi-24D with eight 100kg bombs, two GUV-8700 gun-pods and a co-pilot/gunner and a door gunner all flying together as a team. I wonder how one could model manually reloading of extra ammunition for the rockets by the crew while on mission...
