Sephroth Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 I actually have very little issues reading the displays in VR with my Rift S. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
jsr9597 Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 My specs: i7-6700 CPU @ 3.4Ghz. 32 GB RAM. Display is 1920X1080. MSAA 2X. SSAA Off. Anisotropic Filtering 8X. Resolution of cockpit display is 1024. Simply have a hard time reading the Multifunction Displays. Haven't tried with VR.
jsr9597 Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 Screen shot attached. Thx for any help...! Dave
Swift. Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 The screenshot looks like you have zoomed really far out. Try using the default zoom level, you might have more success. 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
jsr9597 Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 Thx...I took that at the beginning of the mission...so hadn't done anything.
Swift. Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Do you have 'zoom view' bound to an axis? 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
jsr9597 Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 No...its strange....really not sure why this is happening. Here's another question...I noted in the DCS News this week that there have been updates to the Falcon. Are those automatically updated to my module or do I need to do something to upload/install the updates? MB / Dave
Swift. Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 What should happen is that, as you start up DCS it will prompt you to update. If this didn't happen then it might be worth checking the version number matches the latest on http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
danny875 Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 You can manually start the update by running the updater from the bin folder in your install location.
nickos86 Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 BTW, there is a small metal part above the RWR that clutter part of the display in 'normal' view. Is that how it feels in real life or the POV is a bit incorrect?
jsr9597 Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 Here's a better screenshot of my cockpit. Hard to read the MFDs...how can I fix? Dave
Swift. Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 At that point you can read enough to understand the text, unfortunately we will always be limited in our digital world simply due to hardware constraints. My advice, a little dis-satisfyingly, is just to learn what it should be saying and then use the slightly blurred text as a reminder. eg in the above image top row of the LMFD: CRM RWS NORM OVRD CNTL 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
jsr9597 Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 Thx for the help - do appreciate it. Do you know if the default zoom can be adjusted...that would help. And if so, how? Dave
jsr9597 Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 Never mind my last///think I'm figuring stuff out....
nickos86 Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 jsr9597, can you properly read the RWR? Target at 12 o'clock not masked to you by the metal part on the left "eyebrow"?
