After a fresh install of windows, and DCS, my backslash "" key to open the coms menu wasn't working.

I went in the key binding menu, and tried to bind a key to it, but DCS is detecting the backslash key as a right square bracket "]"

It's also detecting the right square bracket key, as a left squarebracket "["

And finally, if I try to bind something to left square bracket, it detects it as "AT"

The keys work just fine in windows, and any other programs.

My windows language is set to English (United States)

Does anyone know how I can get DCS to detect the keys correct?

I tried deleting my config folder but that didn't help any.

Additionally, it appears that the = key is detected as "prev" and the ` key is detected as Kanji...

It's like DCS has the wrong keyboard language selected.

Did another format of the computer, fresh install of windows and DCS, and same issue...

Hi

this is a strange one, I am not able to reproduce on my machine.

Can I ask you to try again and then attach your dcs log so we can look for clues.

Thank you

I had this problem earlier this week when doing a fresh OS install and DCS and IL2 and some other games had this problem, but interestingly enough, not all games did, nor was it a problem in general Windows usage.

Anyway, I removed all devices under keyboards in the device manager and then did a device rescan and all was well. The fresh OS install picked up two non-existent Logitech keyboards which may have been the culprit but I pulled everything just to cover the bases.

Also, keep an eye on that behavior potentially happening from Win10 servicing updates going from one build to the next or even "simple" OS security updates.

Thanks.

This solved this very strange issue.

And indeed in Windows the keyboard was working correctly, but also in other games there were similar quirks.

solved now anyway using your advice.

very good.
