Lace Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 Set up a simple SP mission yesterday and during the startup I accidentally jettisoned the canopy when reaching for the fuel feed selector . Rather than start over I thought it would be a good opportunity to take the F-16 Convertible (that's what the C stands for, right?) for an evening flight since I've always been a fan of open cockpit flying. The mission went well and open cockpit flying is a little louder but M1+ still possible. Not sure what to make of that but I know the FM is still WIP. Anyway the issue was after landing and shutdown I requested a repair to see if the crew chief could stick a new canopy back on. The 180sec countdown began and then at zero the aircraft was pulled about 50ft into the air and settled onto the roof of an open hangar at Tonopah Test Range. The canopy was then attached. I didn't attempt to taxy off the roof. I can attach a log if someone lets me know where they are kept? Laptop Pilot. Alienware X17, i9 11980HK 5.0GHz, 16GB RTX 3080, 64GB DDR4 3200MHz, 2x2TB NVMe SSD. 2x TM Warthog, Hornet grip, Virpil CM2 & TPR pedals, Virpil collective, Cougar throttle, Viper ICP & MFDs, pit WIP (XBox360 when traveling). Quest 3S. Wishlist: Tornado, Jaguar, Buccaneer, F-117 and F-111.

Kid18120 Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 (edited) Slightly OT but is there a good reason for the "lift in the air" animation while repairing? QuiGon Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 slightly but is there a good reason for the "lift in the air" animation while repairing? Yes there is, if the landing gear needs to be repaired. That's especially impotant if the aircraft has made a belly landing. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

I see, that makes sense. It would clip in the ground after "snapping" back to its intended position after the repair otherwise :book: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Simming since 2005 My Rig: Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming, AMD Ryzen7 2700X, G.Skill RipJaws 32GB DDR4-3200, EVGA RTX 2070 Super Black Gaming, Corsair HX850

What about the Su-25T? It's not lifted up, and is easily rearmed subground. Sent from my ANE-LX1 using Tapatalk
