I've been playing with the JF-17s radio for a bit today and found out that you CAN use the side radio console in manual rather than preset mode.

To switch to Manual mode turn the radio on as normal and use the Take button to move control away from the UFC. Then press the </MAN Button - the display should now show the current frequency. After that you then press either 7/P or 8/C button (my guess is P for Plain mode, C for Cipher ?) then type the frequency and press enter.

Then if you want to change the frequence again, just press P or C, enter the new frequemcy and press enter

You can then switch between Manual and the Preset frequency just by using MAN and PRE - the manual frequency you enter is remembered when you switch away to Preset mode then switch back.

(You can also change the preset frequency you're using on the panel in the same way - just press P or C, type in the number and press enter but since you already have the functionality on the UFC it's of less use)

Thanks for sharing, I will add the info to my kneeboard, tough I prefer to change the preset frequencies at the start of the mission (say, for ATC, Tanker and Flight), and then use the UFCP from there onwards.
