When I read this in the manual-

"To use a sophisticated platform with such abundant precision guided ordinance options to carry dumb bombs to go around licking floors was not something we wanted you to go out and do. But if you really want to do it, then go watch Wag's video on the F-18 CCIP and CCRP. We will not be including dumb bomb employment in this manual."

It makes me a bit frustrated and angry. When I spend my hard earned money on a module then I would expect that every system would be documented. Every plane differs in operation and procedure so to tell me to go learn on another aircraft does not help me at all. The JF-17 can carry many more bombs than precision guided ordinance which gives much more flexibility the ability to kill more targets or hardened targets with multiple bombs.

Please do not take the lazy way out. You put a lot of work into this module and the manual should be taken as seriously with the same amount of detail as the actual aircraft. Go look at some of the other manuals, A lot of them are well done. When I read a phrase like the one above I lose confidence in the developer.

Also, as this is a military aircraft procedure manual, maybe leave the humor out of it.

Just my opinion but I have heard similar from others.

I agree that the final manual should include EVERY system that is in the plane in DCS. This seems like a quick start manual where certain things are omitted to get it out the door with release.

Not trying to be combative, but it does say quick guide (Early Access) on the front page. I know we simmers usually go right past it to the main course:)

If we are voting for humor please leave it in. I understand why it may have irked you OP, but I find it very refreshing, and on a complete manual will make it a fun easy but also complete read. The humor about combat limitations and HOTAS design and fire and forget weapons I find very topical and help drive the point home.

I do look forward to a complete manual when we can push our knowledge of this plane to another level

I found the humour in the manual refreshing, but I can also see that it only really fits in a more informal “here's what we've got so far” kind of document. For the full thing, it would be hard to keep it in and yet keep it properly informative.

I get it, It's early access however just leave it out like everything else. Dumb bombing is an important role and inherent to most attack aircraft. If they mention it, include it. Don't pass me off to another aircraft where procedures, controls, symbology is different. It just is not the correct thing to do. Not everyone who buys this has other modules that they can practice with. Seems like they mostly fully modeled CCIP/CCRP at it's core, so, include it in the quick manual. Couldn't be that hard, could it?

From the view of someone who bought this as their first module, I totally understand your point.

I gave it a pass because I know how much they worked to get this module released before christmas break and now they are fixing so many bugs so we can enjoy this module in the holidays.

Airplanes : A-10C II | AJS-37 | A/V-8B | F-4E | F-14A/B | F/A-18C | FC3 | JF-17 | M2000-C
Helicopters : AH-64D | CH-47F | Ka-50 III | Mi-24P | Mi-8MTV2 | SA342 | UH-1H

Other Modules : Combined Arms | Persian Gulf | Afghanistan

Hmm. When I read that I thought it was funny. We've done CCIP and CCRP and so forth so many times with dumb bombs in other planes it would be a waste of time for Deka to do yet another dumb bomb guide unless the systems are hugely different (they're not).

But, if this was your first DCS plane, I can see how that would be disappointing. Not to worry, I'm sure the full guide will discuss dumb-bombing.

i don't think humour has much place in learning materials. Take a look at the Mig21 training missions. The stupid jokes make you want to bash your monitor in. That idiot instructor needs to get to the damn point. Such a pain in the ass esp when you can't rewind or fastforward missions easily.

Shaheed Cntrl Z as many times as needed to accelerate time then shift z brings you back to normal. While I liked the humor back then upon release in the MiG-21, I feel that Deka’s humor is more about the actual plane and thus enriches learning.

I’m sure we’ll have a ccip manual section eventually. I understand you’re point FireMedic, I hope you get it working. For me I just fired the instant action missions, air to ground master mode, then select CCIP mode I think and nose fuse and I think your set. AGR is not implemented right now so the CCIP/CCRP are based off barometric height. When we get AGR mode, it will become really good at CCIP. It can be frustrating learning a new module, especially a plane with so little info about it in the public domain that’s it’s largely a black box.

If it’s any consolation I think Chuck said his guide will be out in about two weeks as of a few days ago. I’m sure he wants it done before the holidays:)

Never mind how to drop bombs (press the red button). What concerns me is that "Brake" is mispelled as "Break" throughout the guide. That I can never forgive...
