Fly-out triangle in TWS

I noticed in Wags' video there is no fly-out triangle symbol in TWS shown when the AMRAAMs were fired, as there would be in STT. Is this WIP or is there really no fly out cue in TWS?

No, he is talking about the missile in-flight indicator. You can see it later in the video, when Wags shoots the AIM-7

 

AFAIK that is only depicted in STT, so it would be correct for not showing in TWS.

Now that you mention it I only recall seeing the symbol for aim7 shots in STT. Is it already there (in current OB) for AMRAAM shots in STT?

i think, missile symbol is missing because guidance of AIM120 is done by datalink, not by radar.

In case of AIM-7, you shoot it in STT, that means, guidaince is done by radar.

The fly out cue is definitely displayed right now for the AIM-120 as well, in STT. I believe it should be displayed in TWS also. If anything, it'd be more useful for the AIM-120 in TWS as opposed to STT in a saturated environment, so as to see what trackfiles you've actually shot at, and also the individual missile statuses.

I double-checked it, indeed TWS should display a flyout cue too. It also should display delta height of the L&S next to the radar elevation caret.

The altitude delta is probably there, but suppressed by the Declutter Lvl 2 option, which is the default option selected when you do an air start in the Hornet. Probably Wags had Declutter Lvl 2 enabled during the video.

Correct. We are still working on the fly-out symbol, filed target stems, and L&S target heading.
