[FIXED INTERNALLY] max range of missle different on hud then on Attack radar.

So when using the attack radar in TWS. the vertical bars that show max range, max escape range, and min range are different then the ranges showed on the hud.

For instance on the attack radar on the ddi the target will be well within the Rmax on the ddi, but will be outside the rmax on the hud, and no shoot cue will appear untill i'm within the Rmax on the hud, which then on the ddi will show somewhere between Rmax and R-no-escape.

Is this a bug or am i missing something?

you can see what i mean in this screen shot.

I have only been using it in single player so far

On your HUD you're just within MAX, on the scope the L&S is superimposed over the MAX tick mark (I think). The top of the launch zone on the scope is MAX aero.

It isn't. There is no tick for Rmax. just Raero, Rleathal, and Rmin

I attached a track to my post in the other thread.

Found the same when doing comparative tests of F/A-18C AIM-120C vs the JF-17 SD-10.

For info. testing M1.2 @ 32,800 ft (10,000m) head on vs a non-manoeuvring target (MiG-23).

DCS FA-18C vs MiG-23

Radar TWS detection/lock @ 70 NM

Max range successful AIM-120C @ 44 NM (81 km)

(impact @ 520 TAS i.e. almost stalling)

AIM-120C Radar Max LAR range* = ~44NM

Below 500 TAS, increased AoA/drag causes both missiles to fall

*Doesn't match HUD cues in 2.5.5.41371

I assume the HUD range cues aren't dynamic, while the attack radar LAR(s) are.

IIRC the max aero HUD diamond equalled approx 38 NM
