sylkhan Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I am enjoying the Chengdu a lot, all is great except the internal engine cockpit sound. It actually sound more like the crappy/boring MK2 (razbam) sounds than the great mig29 (ED) internal engine cockpit sound. And since the RD-93 is a modified version of RD-33 is would be logic to have the same sound engine as mig-29. I know, you have a lot of work, but if you can take a look at this in the futur, it would be great. Thanks for your hard work !
AeriaGloria Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I’m sure the inlet might cause a slightly different sound they might want a separate recording for. They had to do separate recordings for the P-51 and Spitfire Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

Possible, but the difference should be minimal ? It only has half the engines as mig29 Then it should sound half of the mig29 internal engine sound :) and don't forget that RD-93 is more powerfull than RD-33

Rhinozherous Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Internal sound is not only made by the engine... Inlets, Materials, Form of Cockpit, Vibrations, Position of Engine related to pilots ears, way of mounting the engine to the airframe, headgear, seals of the cockpit.... and so on. I am sure it sounds different, even when two aircraft have the same engine. i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
shaHeen-1 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Also what is sound? do all humans hear it the same? for example is my color red the same as your color red? what if you see my 'green' and call it red? until these questions are answered deka shouldn't touch the sound XD

Anyway, as for this topic, I believe the jet sounds quite alright. I can hear the wind speed around the airframe. The surround sound effect is present. Not really sure how much sound the engine should make since even if it is a powerful version of mig 29 engine, we dont know how loud it is in pressurized cockpit. I would love to get a bit louder engine sound on the exterior view though. As for the engine sound...only DEKA can say if it is accurate. I do find it lacking in variability though so I can't set thrust on sound alone.
