I did an update hoping to see the new A-10c in all it's showroom floor grandeur. Alas I was left wanting. So I found the instructions for switching to the open beta and am installing it now. Wish me luck..

Something is not right. The version # is 2.5.5.39384. Shouldn't it be 2.5.5.4????

I both updated the game and then swapped to the open beta.

The weird hing was that when I restarted it once the version # was 2.5.5.4??? but the cockpit was the same. I restarted again and the version had reverted back to 39384.

Doon1 - search for SkateZilla's updater tool - this might help you, maybe not. Not sure, I have only run the OpenBeta and not switched back and forth, but here is a link:

The most current version of Open Beta is: 2.5.5.41371

I downloaded Skatezilla's tool and says that the latest version is the one the I have. Yet the cockpit looks the same.

An it looks very good..

The new cockpit has been released for the stable version today. So just update your stable version and the new cockpit will be there. :)

That did it.

Framerate is still good. It's a bit dark though. I was using a mod that made everything much more legible in the cockpit. I'm assuming it won't work any more. Everything is a bit blurry and unreadable now. Going to go see if I can do anything abut that.

Did that. although this particular mod doesn't mess anything up, it is just ineffectual. It is the bigger text mod by Elliott88. It would seem that those graphics are now in three other dds files of another folder. I tried modding one to see what is what but I don't know what the compression method is of the A-10C-2019-CPT-TXT.zip file. So it just craps out the entire cockpit. Do you know what compressor they are using?

EDIT:Wooho0, figured it out. Now to get to work on some more legible text.

Bigger text mod changes the text size in the textures, which are different.

So Like I said, they are not compatible.

The bigger text mod altered the A_10C_EDM_TEX.zip file. While that file is still in the texture folder is no longer being used. I commented it out and ran the sim with no issues. The new file is A-10C-2019-CPT-TXT.zip. I modified the a10c_cpt_dash_right_Diffuse.dds file in the zip with Paint.net to get that red A. I'm currently trying different sizes and boldness of the MS33558 font to make the writing more legible. I have to test it both lighted and not lighted to see how well I works. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Here's the A-F on the CDU. very legible and significantly brighter even without any zoom from normal seated position. So I'm going to do all the writing and numbers on both side panels and the MIP to include the gauges.

I kinda needed a little project so this should be cool.

So I'm using snip to capture these pics because I don't know how to take a snapshot. How do I take an in game screenshot?
