Recently updated to the latest beta DCS. Latest steam VR beta and WMR beta. Latest windows.

My flights start fine and then suddenly DCS and/or my VR locks up and freezes.

Happening in the C-101 at Mozdok on a custom free flight mission.

Only other new thing is I installed latest SRS but this is happening flying offline.

If anyone can help get me pointed in the right direction of how to track this down I’d be grateful.

Thanks, Jason

I guess what I am asking is what logs and where to post as I’ve never needed to before

Noob here but have a very similar system. I find when the environment runs choppy your pushing in game settings too high. When it outright crashes, your pushing your video card too much. Try dialing back the OC on your video card.

Just a thought.

Good luck

Thank you so much fo that pearl of wisdom Biggs! That may have been the ticket! Turned off the oveclock on my GPU and just had a flight with no issues. Cheers, Mey Christmas and happy holidays!

Couldn't eve really tell if overclocking the GPU ever helped me out anyways

Should I post it here BigNewy? And is the crash log different from the regular log.cfg? Thanks

so it actually seems like my DCS isn't crashing but intermittently going through exceedingly long pauses/freezes. It will be butter smooth and then randomly my VR cockpit view freezes, I get the STEAM VR "waiting fo DCS prompt and that cam last 45-60 seconds, maybe more. Task manager would intermittently show DCS not responding during this with very little CPU or GPU activity shown. I had assumed it was crashed and would back out with Cntr Alt Delete. Actually though, if I sit tight for exceedingly long wait times, DCS will come back and run butter smooth til it randomly does it again. I have attached my last two logs if anyone can help point me in the right direction. Thanks, Jason

Addendum, this is new DCS behavior I haven't witnessed before.

I have been having that if I am lucky is a 2-5 second "pause" and if I am not I get the dreaded message DCS has crashed..." No rhyme or reason just outta the blue WHAM. Tried every and I mean every suggested way. Loading older Nvidia drivers, update bios, went back to stock vs overdrive etc etc..

I usually get crash message when I change graphic settings without restarting dcs. You rename config folder in document/saved games folder so dcs create a new one. Also move pagefile to other drive then back to refresh it.

I’m noticing I’ll get this freeze occasionally even in mission editor or main menu
