F18. Point of situation

I am disappointed that the af-18 can only carry 4 mavericks. But at the same time 8 jsow 154c.

Is is going to be fixed?

Even f-16C can carry 6 of them - 3 on each pilon. (not in dcs, in rl)

FA-18 in dcs doesn't have SPI for now, it's SO BAD!

TGP has no point on HUD....

When you launching AGM-62 it can just randomly explode instantly, killing you.

Well the first is simple. The F-18 modeled here can only carry 4 Mav's in real life, it can carry more JSOWs, JDAMs or LGBs as there is a rack mount that allows for it. No such luck for the Maverick on the Hornet. So nothing here to 'fix'.

The F-16C can (and will in DCS) carry 6 Mav's, good for it, it is a different aircraft.

Don't get what you are trying to say.

Yes TGP has no point on HUD... it doesn't make the TGP unusuable.

As for the AGM-62 exploding killing you I suspect you are pulling negative G's (or at least <1g) at time of weapon release and colliding with your bomb.

It's usable, but still missing that symbol on hud....

Nope. It happens randomly.

And what about spi, SLAVE mode for sensors? FA18 just don't have it for now.

Datacartrige - I have to enter 8 coords for 8 JSOWs

It's a good plane, but still very WIP in dcs.

Are there any aircraft modules in DCS that come with a DTC feature at the moment?

Interesting. How is it set up? In the mission editor, or during briefing?

Hopefully the Litening II gets HUD indications soon along with the Harpoon getting the proper damage model. I noticed the AIM-7P is on the list but it's definitely not complete.

The next big system in the pipeline I hope we see come to fruition is the ATFLIR pod.

tbh i hope they go for gound/sea radar modes more than anything else...

I think they should finish the Litening pod and then work on the ground radar, particularly for employing the Harpoon, JSOW and the yet to come SLAM. It would be great if they allowed cheek mounting even as a stand in until the ATFLIR arrives so that we can utilise the double ugly load outs for CAS and SEAD that are used and it would take the pressure off the ATFLIR.

+1

20 months ago, I bought what was advertised as a U.S. Navy F/A-18...we still don't have that.

I'd be happy if we get an update on the state of the new FLIR render that will be used.

If the A-G radar is further along in development than ATFLIR, than finishing that system first is fine.

So December's "Great month for the Hornet" translates to a few TWIS updates. I am truly under-whelmed.

Agree... Me too.

Agreed...very disappointing and very far from great.

The F-16 had a better month than the Hornet and still seems to be taking resources away.

do you know where the development of the f16 is compared to the f18? is it far behind or is it on the same level?

F-16 don't have any good weapons for this moment. No maveriks for example...

But F-16 have TWS, ok TGP for now.

Dont worry guys, now January will be the great month for Hornet. We should get improvements for TGP and eventually AG radar...

I do not think that we will AG radar see in the near future

The F/A-18C does also have TWS since the last Update.

I'm happy for every new Feature, because it is already absolutely stunning to fly and i set it to my primarily Module and modify my Simulator for it now.

F18 Bug??

Hi.

I've just purchased the F18 and although in preset missions and training it's fine.

In using it in mission editor, the damn thing won't accelerate to flying speed on the runway and if by some miracle, you do get airborne, it's just above stalling speed in max reheat.

I've pressed FCS reset and retrimmed etc, but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Kiwi
