Yes, I bought a new cable today to test it. Same problem occurs, so maybe the magnetometer sensing the motion of the collective axis is broken.. (?)

I haven't opened mine, so I don't know how the design is. Yeah, maybe the magnet became loose.

Hey Oriole! I had a similar problem with my collective and i was able to fix it through this thread. But i have one of the first versions of his collective.

I dont under stand when he says in the second post you linked to: "On the controller board we find two contacts labeled "BOOT"..."  
What controller board is he talking about? I can't recognize anything like that inside my collective.

I think indeed a firmware reboot of my device would help, but I can't figure out how to do it. Because the VPC Programs and Windows joy.cpl won't respond to the device properly.

Maybe you have the new version with the arduino controller board. Mikhail switched to a new board for his latest collectives as far as i know. So probably the solutions i posted are for the older versions.
