The Channel modern aircraft.

I have a question for Nineline and BIGNEWY regarding the new WWII Channel Map.

Do you know if hunters, tankers, modern Awacs will be able to use the landing strips correctly?

This card is intended only for WWII aircraft?

This is a WW2 specific map, as stated numerous times (Just to remove all doubt (And maybe hopes).

 

That means, you CAN fly modern aircraft there, but runways will generally be too short, and you will lack modern tech, navaids, tacan etc.

 

This is contrary to the Marianas map, which is CONFIRMED to be released with two versions- WW2 and modern.

I will put DCS Supercarrier there and my runway will be long enough, will have tanker and AWACS available and also TACAN ;)

I believe RAF Manston will be capable for allowing large aircraft, it was used as an emergency runway during the war and is wider and longer than most.

I'm not a big fan of WWII times. But a map that is made on my country, far too tempting not to use it, even if modern hunters have no place in it.

I was doing some tests on the Normandy map, and I could take off a fully-loaded F/A-18C from nearly all air strips. Only the grass fields presented a problem. I would not expect the Channel Map to be too much different and would hope that many airfields would be usable.
