[FIXED] WMD7 pod stuck in CCIP view

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I put one of my gbu's in ccip for a second and the pod started focusing on what i guess would be the calculated impact point. When I swiched back to auto, I am no longer able to move the camera the pod when in SP. It will continue act as though it were still in CCIP. Restarting the game will not even fix this...I will still have no control over the pod camera view even if i do not switch to CCIP.

The POD's screen is SOI, so this is not the problem.

This needs to be fixed as i will need to restart the game to fix it, and even this is not guaranteed to work. Never had this problem until i tried switching to CCIP with the WMD7 pod on the plane.

See Post #6 for a detailed walk through of the problem with pictures.

Do you think you could upload some pictures so we better see what’s going on? Switching the pod from snowplow to slave doesn’t do anything?

Think of the TCS on the F-14. When dropping a bomb in CCIP with the 14, the TCS will focus on the estimated impact point of the bomb. The same thing will happen with the WMD7 pod (which is fine). My issue is that when I take it off of CCIP, I should regain the ability to slew where the pod looks. However, the view in SP mode will be "stuck" as if it were still in the CCIP. The pod will focus on the waypoint if i switch to slav mode, but when i swap back to SP, the pod will be stuck on the "impact point" view again.

Also, I have to actually restart the game to fix it. Simply re-spawning, even leaving and rejoining the server, will not work, even if I do not put my bomb in CCIP in the first place on that life.

The pod will only slave when in SLAV.

In SP it must be ground stabilized.

Are you saying you can't ground stabilize it anymore?

no...read above. I'm saying I literally cannot control the pod anymore when in SP after putting it in CCIP. Control inputs do not work when i try to slew the pod around in SP, switching back to auto from ccip does not work, switching to "slav" mode back to SP does not work. I will post pictures though

^^ In SP, the camera on the pod no longer focuses on the normal SP view...which is expected because it is in CCIP. Instead, the camera focuses on the calculated impact point of the bomb, which, once again is fine...I am in CCIP. I cannot control the camera which is ok as it would not make sense to be able to control the camera in CCIP.

^^I am no longer in CCIP, so it should return to the view shown in #1, and I should be able to move the camera around....but it does not, and I cannot. It still focuses on the bomb impact point as if it were still in CCIP. In addition, I am unable to move the camera around like I should be able to.

#7 will not fix itself. For example, If I were to die, get in a new plane, load bombs, and never enable CCIP on that life, it would still be stuck at #7 above. Nothing I do, other than restarting the game, will fix this....and even that will not work sometimes, so I will have to straight up restart the computer...

Also, in all of the pictures above, the WMD7 pod is the sensor of interest as noted by the * , so that is not the problem.

I never tried using the pod that way! Does that work for level CCIP drops? I use the HUD but that means dive angles of 40 degrees onto the target.

A very clear explanation of the problem!

Try to clean and repair the DCS installation ?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had just done a repair. I will try a clean reinstall and see if that works, but I suspect it is not a problem on my end

SP modes returns to normal as soon as all AG bombs are dropped. Until then, it's bugged.

Yeah, but try loading more. It will go right back to being bugged after the DTC is updated

Just as a matter of interest, what exactly do you expect to change when restarting your computer against restarting the game?

fixed internally:

if switch from CCIP back to CCRP, you can then move the wmd7 camera again.

Thank you!!
