Joghurt Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 (edited) When I fly at night with night vision goggles on and prepare to land, two of the three AOA indexer lights (those \/, O nd /\ lights left of the HUD) are very bright but the third isn't. Is this intended and due to their colors or is it a bug? Edited January 23, 2020 by Joghurt
Tholozor Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Light behaves differently when viewed through NVGs, depending on their wavelength. If you were to switch the cockpit lighting to NVG mode, you'll notice that all the floodlights switch from white/yellow to a dim green, as so not to blow out the goggles. Red and yellow light is generally brighter in NVGs than green. 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 23, 2020 ED Team Posted January 23, 2020 Adjusting the NVG brightness will help, it looks correct to me. thanks 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Joghurt Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 If you were to switch the cockpit lighting to NVG mode Where's the switch for that?
BarTzi Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Adjusting the NVG brightness will help, it looks correct to me. thanks While that is true, he should actually adjust the brightness of the AOA indexer itself. However, that switch does nothing at the moment.

However, that switch does nothing at the moment. That is reported, and will be fixed, just low priority at the moment. Also why I didn't mention it as a solution :) Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Tholozor Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 @Joghurt, over on the right side console, outboard side of the interior lighting panel to the right of the CHART knob. It's a 3-position switch (DAY, NITE, NVG). 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
