RedTiger Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Will there be an option to create a scenario or start a mission where the Ka-50 is already started and ready to rock and roll? Ramp starts are cool and all, but having the option to skip it is good too!
Snacko Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 The FAQ says this:Q: The public demonstrations at shows indicate that Black Shark looks already completed; why are you waiting until 2008 to launch? A: Black Shark can be played as either a serious study simulation or as a casual game. For those who wish to have the complexity of a serious study simulation, we need to create training lessons with voice-overs that guide the user through the complexities of the various systems, avionics, engines, weapons etc. This can be a very time-intensive process. We also need the time to write the manuals, create exciting missions and campaigns, fully de-bug the code, and get the product into the market place with proper marketing.Maybe a 'casual game' indicates you will have an 'easy' mode? I would think they would also make it easy to fly for the many nuggets out there like me. :pilotfly: Snack Officer Intel I9-10850K (OC @ 5.0ghz) │ 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 │Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24gb - ҉ - Blackshark Cockpit Trainer - ҉ - ♣ Thread | ♥ Download

I'm looking for an equivalent to F4AF's ramp, taxi, and takeoff options. You can play any mission, campaign or otherwise, by starting out in a cold jet and having to do the 20-30 min ramp start. Or you can start on the tarmac ready to taxi to the runway, OR you can just start on the runway ready to go. It gives good flexibility depending on how much you want to do and how much time you have.

I think it's fun with realism, but going through a ~10-15(?) minute start up procedure every time before you can take off... no thanks, and I don't think ED will force us to do that either. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
ED Team Wags Posted October 16, 2007 ED Team Posted October 16, 2007 Start options include: ramp start (FARP or airbase) with all systems shut down; runway/FARP pad start (all systems operating); and air start. Or are we restricted as in Lomac with certain starting points. It would be very nice to be able to start the mission exactly where you want to :) i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
ED Team Wags Posted October 16, 2007 ED Team Posted October 16, 2007 Given you can hand-place a FARP via the editor, you can make a start/end point at most any semi-flat location on the map. Witchking Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 ooh! ooh! Wags....please tell me the Placing of objects in ME has been modified. It has been a tremendous pain of mission developing with those stupid ICONs that we currently have. Basically u have a plan in the head...but u can't realise it as the objects facing is messed up or either they are stacked up on one another. Can we SEE the real model on the map when we place objects?? Trust me...it is sooo freaking useful. It might help clear up a ton of frustration. WHISPR | Intel I7 5930K | Nvidia GTX980 4GB GDDR5 | 16GB DDR4 | Intel 730 series 512GB SSD | Thrustmaster WARTHOG | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR4 pro | |A-10C|BS2 |CA|P-51 MUSTANG|UH-1H HUEY|MI-8 MTV2 |FC3|F5E|M2000C|AJS-37|FW190|BF 109K|Mig21|A-10:SSC,EWC|L-39|NEVADA|

Squid_DK Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 You could see the actual models in Flanker 2, I'm sure ED will bring back that functionality :) It will be a whole new editor after all. I agree that single thing would improve mission creation by leaps and bounds. But I do think it will be a fairly cemprehensive overhaul it is getting, the idea of events and triggers really opens up a new ballgame for it.
