propeler Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Tired to wait for VKB throttle. So I built my own. Grip project is available for free use and modification. Github repo have both original Solidworks files and STLs ready for printing. Enjoy. https://github.com/o-devices/throttle-quadrant

Sokol1_br Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 You use GVL224 mechanics? Base case looks from Defender Cobra joystick.
SneakyBastd Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Well done! Very impressive. :) 7700K@5Ghz, 32GB 3600 CL16, 3080.
Jonny Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Impressive. I'm also tired of waiting for VKB 9or for Virpil to renew their stock!) and would love to print one myself. But which base did you use? Which sensor and controller? Thanks for sharing
TomVR Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Nice. Ministick version would be great though. I'd suggest using xbox/ps4 replacement sticks. The ministicks that come on a pcb breakout board have bad deadzones.

Rymy Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Design is nice and i have printed main body, bottom cover and small side panel and i can see some issues or need for some design improvements. For main body housing there is need to add some beams to give some structural strenght for housing. I havent had attached to any parts anywhere but i can see allready now it is too flexible. Attachment of whole unit to gas throttle lever. There are pieces what you can use to clamp to throttle but at the moment only method what i can see to attach them to actual housing is to superglue them. As side panels are also attached with superglue and you need to secure 4 bolts which connects main body and bottom cover, it is impossible to use bolts so that you can close them and also open them. You(or someone else) would need to do embedded place for nuts in bottom cover where they can sit and you attach bolt under. Only way to close housing now is to leave both sides open, hold nuts in place as you secure bolt and then superglue both ends. Then you have closed unit but you cant open that anymore if you need to. I hope someone has time to fix those issues i think this would be good base for DIY building.
