oops, That sounds weird to me. Like I said, the USB protocol should be independent from operating systems. Since it's a standard released by the USB organization, any operating system utilizing USB interface should comply to this standard.

But I may speculate. The issues with old BU boards might attribute to one or multiple causes listed below:

A - BU firmware not fully compliant with USB_HID1.11 standard;

B - Windows XP not fully compliant with USB_HID1.11 standard;

C - Windows Vista/7 not fully compliant with USB_HID1.11 standard;

D - USB.org has released a new USB_HID standard after Windows XP, which has been implemented in Windows Vista and later versions.

I don't see how D is possible, because I've just downloaded the exact HID spec and HID Usage page tables a couple of weeks ago, and it says 1.11 on them.

Any ideas?:music_whistling:

I got one of the earlier models, too.

I'd love to see any solution to this, but in the forums I read, everybody just recommended installing the drivers (which won't work under 64bit) or flashing the firmware (which doesn't work with that model). No news from the one responsible, as he is apparently ill and discontinued development and support for an unknown period of time.

At least that's what's been posted in their own forums :(

If at any circumstances you can get the device to complete enumeration, i.e, make it show up in the device manager, I might have a way only to pinpoint the possible cause of the problem. But I can't guarantee anything. We shall use PM with this issue, cause it's varying off topic a little bit, lol.

Guess what I did today..?

I stopped by the Simulator at the Historic flight museum in Stavanger (West Coast of Norway). Because I had heard they have a fullsize 737 simulator there..

The place was closed, but the door was open, so I took a chance and walked in and introduced myself. After talking with one of the guys from the SIM department that was working on it, I was given a ride..!

And MAN WAS THAT FUN..!

Oh yeah..!

There's a completly different feeling when you sit inside the cockpit and the landscape is projected onto a 180 degree screen outside the window..! The cockpit is a REAL 737 cockpit given to them by Braathens SAFE (Norwegian airline, not in business anymore). And they have done one H*LL of a job rebuilding the panels for flightsim. They guys in charge of the IO part weren't there, so I did'nt get to ask any quiestions. But I'm going back there on sunday when they have "build night"..

Some update pictures of the Right Switch Panel:

I reinforced the stregnth of the side walls with fibreglass and epoxy resin to make it stronger.

Since the structure is an "open box", and I want to keep access from the outside, this was the simplest way to do it..

.. a bit of filler now, and some sanding. And it should be ok..?

The ABRIS got a coat of paint:

and I am still working on the ABRIS Panel:
