current graphics settings

Recommended Posts

Hi, basically I am not fully aware of what everything does in the graphics setting options on DCS world. However I was wondering what setting people select and deselect for best balance between good picture and fps game play, as although I know I should optimise my settings for DCS I have no idea how to best go about this. I play in 2D on a single 4k monitor. Any tips would be gratefully received.

TIA.

If you have the hardware to support 4k, I would play in 1440 and max everything out. See what your frame rates are and dial back less important stuff if needed. Depending on how close you are to your screen, your eyes can't tell the difference between 1440 and 4k anyway.

You think? I play at 4K with everything pretty much maxed out. I can definitely see a difference if I drop down to 1440p.

ok two opposing opinions there. To be honest I have played it in 2k and I think the picture suits DCS better scale wise. Although it seems to run everything fine turned up. I was wondering what tips or pointers people had to adjust the settings for better gameplay. For example I don't see the need to have shadows on high at all etc.

What's SSLR & SSAA btw? I can turn SSLR on but not SSAA in the options.

2070 might not be "high end" enough for everything else on max, especially after fps drop caused by 2.5.6 update.

I would also note that MSAA is a fps killer, so check if you really need it above x2 at this resolution.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
