ofcross
It would be awesome to be able to play DCS in 2D but with your VR headset My graphics card is lagging behind now (gtx 960) and to play in "3d" I have to lower the quality a lot in order to have 30fps. So I'm asking you [ED] to add an option to play in 2d using VR and take advantage of the 6DOF tracking that the VR headset have. Thankyou!
DarkStar79
I cant see how you even can play on 2D and have a 6DOF. If you play in 2d you only have a flat screen with all the instument on, like the early days of MS flightsimulator.. :-) I dont think they gona do that in DCS! :-)
Gryzor
Its not a bad idea, just for enhance to 90 fps maybe... you get inmersion surrounding your view, BUT without deep perception.
Mars Exulte
That's more on the headsets side, not up to ED. All a headset is is a display. Plain and simple. They usually display two calibrated images for the sake of a 3d effect, but that's as simple as choosing to not do that, for example some VR videos you can do it or not. How headtracking works can vary considerably depending on the headset and method, and most of that is independent of individual software developers. I'd go to your headset's particular tech forums and inquire there, as that's the place you'll get your answers more than here. @Kristoffer Because that's not got anything to do with it, that's how. Evoman
Why not just upgrade to your GPU with something affordable? You can currently find a used RX 580 8GB for around $100 on ebay. Edited March 5, 2020 by Evoman
Ducksen
I like this. Basicly it is using the headset as a tracking device like track IR. Really cool idea.
