Aim-9x question, please help.

Hello, gentlemen Commanders. My question is regarding the Aim-9x. As I like a close match I usually use the following payload: 6x / 120c - 6x / 9x. Sometimes when I switch to 9x the reticle is dead, it does not emit sound, it doesn’t chase the heat it just stays in the center of the hud, even if I put the target in the center of the reticle, the missile goes away, nor is it with him, it looks like it really is dead. Even if I switched modes, he is still dead, but I switched to Guns or 120c, they are still in normal operation except 9x .... I don't know if I accidentally changed something during combat, but I'm sure I didn't press the cage / uncage because it is on the keyboard only. Did anyone else notice this? It didn't happen just a few more times, and in the previous version and this one too. Could any of you gentlemen help me?

Maybe you boresighted the weapon.

Does this present itself when the helmet mounted aim is on?

Yes, mount helmet aim is on, but it's not move too. Maybe it's boresighted, How to reset this? I allready turn AA ON/OFF But still died.

This exact thing happened to me just now. I came in here out of sheer curiosity to just to see what was up and you just happen to be talking about exactly what happened. It just so happened I scored a rad ground kill to complete the mission so I saved a track file. Maybe someone could take a look if they find time.....ok just went to watch the track for continuity but it's just me getting blown out of the sky haha. Yeah I killed the first bandit with AACQ mode, fox 2. Then went for the second shot with just the seeker head no radar assit. Went to uncage the seeker and it never tracked and couldn't get a tone. I made 3 attempts to get a tone and switched to radar assist gun, shot, him and he smashed into a hillside. :joystick:. I dont fly usually with the JHMCS on and didn't this time. I do have random failures on and it may have been that i don't know. Still made me have to change my game plan quickly and think fast. It was pretty cool really. If it acts up again i'll try another trackfile.

Since something similar happened in a different thread (that went all sideways)… check your bindings. Are you sure you're actually hitting uncage and not some other nearby throttle button, like ATC? It's just a hunch, but there might be an issue with binds being flipped from one build to another.

Remember, there are several outstanding REPORTED issues with AIM-9 on the Hornet which have been outstanding for quite a long time now. Your issue may be related.

key bindings are all grey, cage/uncage is set to same as always. Ran the scenario again and in the heat off the moment forgot to go to the seeker only for a lock but scored two pretty cool kills. Will keep trying to reproduce.

interessant, I looked at the bug reporting session, I found only problems reported to 102's

Maybe you're encountering that.
