hello, i have an issue with the shkval moving in a particular direction non stop. i cant stop it unless i cage shkval. this happens when i lock a jet and it tracks and when i shoot it down it sometimes keeps predicting where the jet would be if it was not shot down and keeps following the predicted trajectory of the ghost jet. i lock, relock everything and it just doesnt stop, only stop when cage and uncage. this also happened once when i locked an f15c and then it landed and slowed down by a lot but the shkval was still moving fast again predictiong where the jet would be had it not landed and slowed down. this is annoying, but i also died to a jet once cuz it would go crazy and i couldnt shoot the jet down xD. anyone have this issue? also whats the point of flying low to avoid jets when u create a lot of white smoke which is extremely visible even at range xD.

Could the targeting modes be set to air-to-air or ground moving target by mistake?

Shkval is a total mess for now. I have noticed more strange behaviour of shkval. It can drift non-stop to the left or to the right. And looks like it is linked with a misalignment between shkval and shkval mark on ABRIS (see my screenshot, yellow mark on ABRIS and actual Shkval mark is in total misalignment my Shkval mark is on the top of the hill, blue mark on ABRIS). When wrong mark on ABRIS appears at the side of a choper or behind it Shkval goes wild even if your mark position right infront of you.

And everybody concerned about bad reflections. Looks like few people actually fight with this choper hard.

Sorry i cant see any missalignment,

You can clearly see the alignment is perfect the Thing youre Talking About is the topo implemantation to what the firing controll System is calculating where its Looking at wich is not really an issue if you open your eyes an look out the winow and fam. yourself with th terrain lol.

Edit: you might wanna check your GNSS Connection or smthg

Why this topo implementation is never aligned then? Not after laser measurement not right after uncaging? It was definetly working. Now it never shows right position. And why is it connected with Shkval spontaneous drift?

that is something wich i ever had since i bouight it almost 1 year ago….

the AMMS Aircraft Position is not correct wich has smthg to do with your GNSS Connection Nothing more… isnt that logic? the shkval just Knows hey im Looking -xx° +yy° at a distance of zz meters @ this altitude so we must be Looking at this Point here (topo implemantation ) but if your GNSS is bad then how shall it be accurate

On me the shkval randomly starts moving behind me, as suddenly the laser designator goes to 0.1km range, even if just second ago it was ranged at 7 km distance.

You lock ground target and then shkval goes crazy few seconds later.

Yes yes! Its as if shkval is trying to look behind helicopter. Is this a bug? Was this before the update too?

Never happened to me before the update. I am just curious why we have to argue with others players insisting that everything is alright?

FWIW, I also repeatedly had some severe sudden drifting of the targeting point (previously locked with laser designation). In good lighting conditions and contrast.

I'm new to the Shark so I have no idea if I'm doing something wrong, not understanding the system or locking constraints, etc.

A quick trawl back through posts will show that this was an issue for a long time before 2.5.6. I think before 2.5, even...

It is, we are assured, in hand.

yeah as i said ist since i bought it ( almost 1 year ago ) but it only Appens to me when i funneling and dont use HMS and helding down i251 uncage, so thats the reason ist no probem for me and shouldnt for others when Accounting to the fact that it happens rarely IMO this is just something making the sim more authentic. if it happens o you every time you clearly have a different Version than e, or do something very different :)

I too have experienced this moving 'ghost trajectory' of the SHKVAL target.

It makes perfect sense that it would do that after one has been previously tracking a moving target (air or ground) and then to move to a stationary target. But when the MOV GRD TGT is checked off ...then I am out of ideas why it continues to try and track a moving target. I end up playing a little mini game of trying to have the target box cross over the target and lock it as it passes, which is tricky sometimes, and annoying. But a new lock seems to erase the problem and it doesn't reoccur as it has a new memory and the old ghost is then forgotten.

I would expect the target cursor to stop flying across the Targeting Display Screen when the MOV GRD TGT is switched off. Can someone clarify if this is assumption is correct please?

I have only recently returned to the Ka-50 and I assumed just half an hour ago when I was flying that it was my error, which it could be. But either way; I experienced this issue with the original standalone Black Shark several years ago.

The GLONASS is not primary navigation source, it is just a source for updates.

The primary is the INU and you get very high accuracy for tracked ground speed and distance.

But with GLONASS you get updates and increased accuracy overall when you start to add multiple sources.

But if all systems reports you to be somewhere else than you are, then you still around get shkval at right place as long coordinates of target doesn't get wrong in first designation.

Okay, i cant read something About PVI 800 sending data and was in the meaning that they both dont sahre data to each other as said in the tutorial + are just linked for NAV aid and not for NAV updates but im open for your Knowledge to learn more. so to be clear when you hit the PVI 800 SELF COO Button in that Scenario youll get the LAT LONG coords matching your ABRIS LAT LONG (or in different Format) wich i think is not correct at this Point btw, cause a INU update of a known Point in the Abris to the PVI800 wouldnt make any sense if it was implemented… unknown.png

The navigation systems in the KA-50 are not connected completely (didn't claim so) but there is some connection through other systems, so that depending what you are using, can be causing troubles on other. Why you need to eliminate each system individually to debug the problems.

Last week I bought the KA50 at full price after seeing the new textures and cockpit. I was already familiar from the old days. That said my thumb is sore from moving my Warthog hat the scroll that dam lazer. I reset it and sometimes start to drift which is annoying as hell.

With so many other button, switches, modes, sequences etc I assumed I was doing something wrong. Turning OFF auto to man helped but there has to be a easier way to move that SLOW reticle which is not only a pita but alo during the heat of battle frustrating.

I find that in the heat of the battle the helmet-mounted monocle works a lot quicker to acquire targets.

@JIMJAM - Yeah, use the HMS to get your cursor near the target, then fine tune with the slew.

@BranchPrediction - Lol, yeah I play with an old RC controller. Use your mouse to look around with the HMS. Trim so you can take your hand off the controller. Dam HOTAS is freaking expensive!
