Let's say CH were to make a new Flight yoke. What features would be important to you? Is there a particular yoke design you prefer (ie. Boeing, Mooney, etc.)?

Just gathering information here, so I appreciate as much feedback as possible!

Thank you!!

haha I second and third that.

They are charging roughly $240 each for the fighter stick, pro throttle and pro pedals in this country!!!!

Perhaps CH has no direct association in the price gouging but I will never buy their products until they do something about this.

Back to the theme of this thread. Why another yoke? Ok, so more people, to date, have bought more copies of Microsoft simulators than all the combat sims combined (thrice) but who needs a stinkin' yoke around here? We need dual (arch) throttle for the upcoming A-10. ;)

Flight yoke for southpaw? :lookaround:

What I would include if I were to built a high-end yoke?

1. built in throttle, pressure sensitive trigger on each side of the grip for rudder control, throttle and brake for race sim, etc.

2. force feedback

3. built in trackball

4. little screen to show gps, moving map, MFD and the likes

But I still wouldn't buy it because I prefer the look of combat stick and throttle.

hope that helps

I have been very happy with the current yoke, but there are a few things that would be welcomed additions:

1.) ability to adjust yoke tension

2.) rotation up to 90 degrees in each direction*

*I know the amount of rotation varies from aircraft to aircraft, so it would be great if the max rotation could be set at different values to simulate different aircraft (I fly Cessna 150s and 172s, and it always seems odd controlling them with the CH yoke in simulators because the yoke doesn't rotate a full 90 degrees). I'm not sure how this would be implemented though.

As for force feedback - it never felt right to me (at least in the games I've used it in). I guess it's up to personal preference though.

Okay, but, what other features would you like to see? Buttons? Switches? Axes? Detents?

Already mentioned a detent. But yes I forgot something. I would like the stick handle to be smaller too. Next time they should make it possible for a normal hand to reach for all buttons without having to take the hand off from it. Right now only a gorilla could press the missile trigger properly.

Hall effect sensors instead of pots !! :joystick:

I dont think any CH stuff ever needed that to remain precise and durable, and it would only increase the price tag on it. Its pretty expensive over here.

I agree that carbon pots are a bad idea, but hall sensors might be overkill. Conductive plastic would be a very nice compromise.

Yoke shmoke .... What I want is a heavy stick and throttle setup, not that I am unhappy with my CH gear ... but I wish that it was more substantial in weight, and also wish the throttle had an arc instead of being a slider.... one can always dream, sigh..
