GVO Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 When I'm in a dogfight, the big X on the HUD, usually gets in my way of aiming the reticle on the target. Is there any way to turn it off, like a circuit breaker? I guess not, but just wanted to check. Have a nice day all.
QuiGon Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Nope, I don't think there is. It's there for a reason. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Caliboy42 Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 That’s impressive that you can stay that close for that long! I would be a little uneasy being that close because 1) you have less time to react to his movements and 2) if you kill him being so close your plane may be damaged by pieces of his plane hitting you. I think the collision warning “x” displays at 500 ft. Can anyone confirm? r4y30n Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 I’ve definitely had plane parts rain on my canopy after not heeding the break symbol. Got away with it that time but it could’ve easily taken out both engines.
draconus Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 The only way I can think of is to not lock the bandit. That way the system doesn't know you're too close and you shouldn't need much cues for aiming this close.
