DarkStar79 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 I dont know if this is the right place to ask this question.. But sometimes, when I have Discord and music on in Windows (Using Oculus rift), all those sounds gets lower, it can happend like 30 mins in to a flight or right away sometimes when I log in to the game that the Discord and music gets like 40-50% lower. Its like all the program that is opend in windows gets lower volume.. Im not sure if this is a DCS thing or a windows setting or what it can be? Its just really enoying. Do any have a clue on what it can be?

hornblower793 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 It is a known issue between Discord (and other apps that control sound volume) and Windows - they are both trying to moderate volume levels and can end up fighting. I use Discord in other games for coop play and have the same issues. Search the Internet for some suggested resolutions (one worked for me for a period) - i am away from my PC at the moment but will try to dig out later Sent from my SM-T835 using Tapatalk Windows 11 Home ¦ Z790 AORUS Elite AX motherboard ¦ i7-13700K ¦ 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory @ 5600MHz ¦ Samsung 990 Pro 1TB SSD for OS, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD for DCS ¦ MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio 24GB ¦ Virpil WarBRD base with VFX grip, Thrustmaster A10c and F/A-18 grips ¦ VKB Gunfighter Mk4 and MCG Pro ¦ Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle ¦ VKB STECS Throttle ¦ Virpil TCS rotor base with Shark and AH-64D grips ¦ MFG Crosswinds ¦ Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box ¦ Pimax Crystal
hornblower793 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Have now found the settings The first is in the Windows Sound Control Panel - on the Communications tab select do nothing (this is Windows helpfully trying to provide automatic attenuation when you make or receive phonecalls) The other is to look at your Discord settings and reduce the level of attenuation in the Voice & Video section - I still have this set and have to go and adjust Windows volume levels at random, but some Internet users have said that setting the attenuation level to 0 has removed the issue Hope this helps:thumbup: Windows 11 Home ¦ Z790 AORUS Elite AX motherboard ¦ i7-13700K ¦ 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory @ 5600MHz ¦ Samsung 990 Pro 1TB SSD for OS, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD for DCS ¦ MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio 24GB ¦ Virpil WarBRD base with VFX grip, Thrustmaster A10c and F/A-18 grips ¦ VKB Gunfighter Mk4 and MCG Pro ¦ Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle ¦ VKB STECS Throttle ¦ Virpil TCS rotor base with Shark and AH-64D grips ¦ MFG Crosswinds ¦ Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box ¦ Pimax Crystal

razo+r Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 This issue has appeared with 2.5.6 for me. The options here solved it for me, try that if you haven't already: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4266623#post4266623
DarkStar79 Posted April 3, 2020 Author Posted April 3, 2020 I found the problem for me. Its the in game voice chat that is the problem. When i turn off the ingame voice chat everything works perfect with Discord. It seems to lower the volum maybe 30-40% of the Discord for me when i have in game voice chat activated. Im not sure if its a bug or anything but might be something to look in to..
