Charley Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I've been trying out vertical take offs & landings but I don't know why I don't see the witch hat , slip indicator, angle of attack indicator on the HUD. I have the VSTOL mode button enabled . What do I need to do to get that on my HUD?
sirPecka Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Did you finish your INS alignment and set INS to nav? Sent from my SpyPhone using Tapatalk

Some HUD elements are missing if using LOW cockpit textures, is it that ? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4044800#post4044800 i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Marsvinet Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Yep, this is the low texture problem. You need to have your cockpit textures above "Low" to see all the elements.
Charley Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 Yes! It was the low textures not allowing me to see all the info on the HUD. Thanks, very much appreciated!
Baldrick33 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Another beginner here. What I am really struggling with is using the Warthog throttle for helicopters as a collective has messed with my head so that when trying to vertically land if I am sinking too fast I go into panic mode and pull back on the power! The results aren't very pretty, usually going full power too late and bouncing. Lots of fires! Everything seems to be going ok until I get close to the ground. I guess the only answer is more practice. My thoughts were to practice vertical landing on runways and then tackle the carrier but the latter seems a long way off. In spite of my lack of ability I am enjoying flying the aircraft though :) AMD 5800X3D · MSI 4080 · Asus ROG Strix B550 Gaming · HP Reverb Pro · 1Tb M.2 NVMe, 32Gb Corsair Vengence 3600MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · VIRPIL T-50CM3 Base, Alpha Prime R.
